Medium Voltage Power Electronics Test Engineer (F/M)

Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a MV Power Electronics Test Engineer position in our Grenoble, France location.

You will join Schneider Electric, and its Power Systems and Services division, which supports key missions relating to design and development and current/future technological needs of Medium Voltage products.

Reporting to Ilknur, you will join a growing team of 15 specialized engineers in the field of power electronics. The team is diverse and is located in France and Germany. You will help design and develop a new generation of modular multi-level medium voltage power electronics systems.

Your role :

You are responsible for all aspects of the hardware design process, from concept to production, ensuring that the design meets the required performance, quality, and reliability standards while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers.

Your missions :
  • Develop test plans and procedures for modular multi-level medium voltage power electronics systems
  • Read and understand the test requirements from the relevant standards and prepare the test benches accordingly
  • Design and implement test setups for validation and verification of power electronic components and systems
  • Conduct various tests including performance, reliability, environmental, and safety testing.
  • Analyze test results and provide clear and detailed reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test plans align with product requirements
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues in power electronic systems and propose design improvements
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices for power electronics testing


Your profile :
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or electronics or related field
  • Proven experience (3 years) in testing medium voltage power electronics systems
  • Experience in understanding test requirements due to specific norms


Your skills :
  • Strong understanding of power electronics principles and components
  • Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and data acquisition systems
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations for power electronics testing
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly
  • Prepared to offer alternative or non-standard solutions to a problem
