Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Component Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in leading capacity and obsolescence projects for metal finishing equipment. You will support suppliers, contribute to sustainability initiatives, and engage with end customers to enhance their experience.

This position requires up to 50% of travel expectations within North America.

This role is locatedin Franklin, TN.

What will you do?

  • Oversee the electroplating process, ensuring that metal parts meet stringent quality standards.
  • Deploy electroplating equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Conduct studies on plating solutions, chemicals, and materials to guarantee optimal coating quality.
  • Perform regular tests and assessments to maintain high-quality coatings.
  • Maintain accurate records of all plating processes, including solution compositions and usage.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to optimize process efficiency and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Provide expert guidance on chemical processes and safety best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and submit necessary reports.
  • Direct production operations to optimize workflow and minimize waste.

Who will you report to? Parts Advanced Manufacturing Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for growth and learning in a cross-functional role. You will be directly responsible for the development of new technologies related to metal finishing, and you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact within our organization and the industry.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in enginering, chemistry or a related field is required, Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in metal plating processes.
  • Proficiency in chemical analysis techniques, including spectrometry and chromatography (a plus).
  • In-depth knowledge of chemistry as it applies to plating processes.
  • Project management experience is recommended.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to relocate and travel internationally as needed.
  • Proficiency in safety engineering with exposure to electrical safety.
