Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze technology and product roadmaps along with market trends to develop a materials innovation pipeline for the region.
  • Scout material research and developments in Universities, Labs, and startups to leverage within SE, enhancing our product resilience and sustainability.
  • Contribute significantly to understanding global substance regulations and their impact on the North American region.
  • Develop and implement a material innovation pipeline that supports localization and resiliency strategies.
  • Work comprehensively with various materials such as plastics, metals, surface treatments, composites, and ceramics, requiring a strong foundation in materials and structure-property relationships.
  • Lead corporate-level initiatives in Ecodesign and sustainability.

Collaboration and Impact:
  • Operate within a Global Materials organization, collaborating across regions to share knowledge and create a global impact.
  • Support business units on material-related aspects and implement CTO & corporate strategies.


Qualifications:
  • PhD in Material Science with 3-5 years' experience, or a Master's with 8-10 years' experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of polymers, thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers, and polyurethanes, with experience in engineering plastics & composites for specialty applications.
  • Skilled in both conventional and advanced manufacturing technologies, including injection molding, extrusion, casting, forging, and additive manufacturing.
  • Expertise in ferrous and non-ferrous alloys and surface treatment technologies to enhance product longevity.
  • Proficient in leveraging nanotechnology for performance enhancement while ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Experienced in materials characterization techniques and understanding of chemistry for material functionalization to boost performance.
  • Committed to sustainability in material design to meet environmental targets.
  • Proven innovation track record through partnerships with universities and suppliers.
