The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. The inspector plays a key role in identifying and documenting non-conformance issues, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong documentation skills, and a commitment to maintaining high product quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection of Materials and Products:
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Use various tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to measure dimensions and verify tolerances.
- Conduct visual inspections for defects such as scratches, misalignment, poor finishing, or improper assembly.

- Document inspection results by completing reports, logs, and records in the QMS.
- Report non-conformances and deviations from specifications to the Quality Engineer and production team.
- Ensure traceability of parts and materials by maintaining proper documentation of inspected items.
- Identify and quarantine non-conforming products and materials, and ensure they are properly labeled.
- Collaborate with the Quality Engineer to initiate corrective actions and participate in root cause analysis activities.
- Ensure non-conformance issues are resolved and proper rework or scrapping is executed.
- Ensure that quality control procedures and standards are followed throughout the manufacturing process.
- Review engineering drawings, process sheets, and specifications to understand the inspection requirements.
- Assist in developing and improving inspection checklists and work instructions.
- Work closely with production teams to identify and correct quality issues at the source.
- Provide feedback to production operators on quality issues and areas for improvement.
- Support production line shutdowns for quality-related concerns and drive corrective measures.
- Participate in internal audits as part of maintaining ISO 9001 or similar certifications.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in the inspection process.
Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in quality inspection preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with quality inspection tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical drawings and specifications.
- Good communication skills for reporting and collaborating with the production team.
- Basic knowledge of QMS (ISO 9001) and Lean manufacturing is a plus.
