The individual in this role will be directly responsible for supervising the maintenance team and supporting the continuous improvement of the Columbia, MO plant's production equipment. This position will oversee hourly employees and manage maintenance functions, being accountable for predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance for all equipment throughout the plant. This role is a strong contributor to continuous improvement, with responsibilities in people management and budget accountability.
This position will support the first shift, from approximately 6 AM to 3 PM.
What will you do in this position?
- Enforcing safety and health rules and the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Managing the maintenance department according to the Schneider Performance System and Short Interval Meeting rules to guarantee the performance of industrial equipment.
- Overseeing people management, including goal setting, performance management, competency development, recognition, engagement, and well-being.
- Managing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) processes to increase the reliability and availability of workstations and production lines.
- Deciding, prioritizing, and implementing maintenance action plans in coordination with manufacturing to maintain machines in their original state.
- Managing the technical capabilities of all internal and external tools under the plant's responsibility.
- Ensuring the proper preservation of all tools and equipment outside the facilities, including those from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Managing and optimizing maintenance costs, including spare parts inventory (both internal and external).
- Organizing the intervention of the team in the implementation and ramp-up of new workstations or production lines.
- Ensuring consistency and updating of the maintenance information system, known as the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), for internal and external needs.
- Updating and ensuring the business continuity plan regarding equipment and tools.

What qualifications will make you successful in this role?
- You possess a strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge related to industrial processes, including maintenance, fabrication, and assembly. This position requires a proven leader with the ability to drive improvement within maintenance, fabrication, and/or assembly departments and troubleshoot issues related to hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- A minimum of 3 years in a team-based process troubleshooting role, engineering role, or maintenance role is preferred.
- A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field is required.
- Experience in metal fabrication, injection molding, plating, and automated assembly is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A self-motivated and driven individual who desires to make an immediate impact.
- Proven leadership skills with a drive to succeed.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to identify waste and eliminate it from complex processes.
- Ability to prepare written reports, instructions, procedures, and guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and develop action plans to strategically eliminate barriers.
