Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Category Buyer to join our Packaging procurement team in Europe. In this role, you will be responsible for managing tail suppliers, supporting our transition to green packaging solutions, and ensuring efficient supplier management across our European operations.

  • Manage the day to day procurement activities with packaging service provider

Tail Supplier Management:
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with tail suppliers for packaging materials.
  • Analyze supplier offers, conduct market research, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Perform comprehensive market analyses to ensure competitive pricing and terms.

Green Packaging Transition Support:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the implementation of sustainable packaging solutions.
  • Identify and evaluate potential green packaging suppliers, analyzing their offerings and environmental impact.
  • Support the development and execution of strategies to transition towards sustainable packaging materials.

Supplier Onboarding and BATNA Management:
  • Facilitate the onboarding process of a new supplier, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage the ramp-up of a BATNA supplier, ensuring a smooth transition and contingency planning.

Invoice and Price Management:
  • Handle invoice and pricing disputes, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate pricing data and ensure timely updates across European plants.
  • Conduct regular price audits and reconciliations to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.

Reporting:
  • Manage our performance measure system and make sure it's up to date
  • Be ready for ad-hoc reporting, weekly, monthly, quarterly


Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a buyer or purchaser
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with sustainable practices or packaging (preferred)
  • Ability to navigate in complex, cross functional environment
  • Fluency in English
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain valuable experience in category management, procurement, and supplier relations within the packaging industry. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals and contribute to our company's sustainability goals.
