We are looking for an experienced Global Mobility Consultant to join our team. This position will play a significant role in supporting the South America countries for international mobility, which includes, global relocation, immigration, payroll etc. In this role you will partner with and provide excellent customer service to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, our external vendor partners, and employees to support new hires and internally transferring employees. You will collaborate to provide context and consultation of our policies, and guidance around the complexity of Immigration and Global Mobility practices and issues. You will support updating our documented processes and standard operating procedures and recommending process improvements.

About The Team As a potential job applicant considering a position in the International Mobility Team at Schneider Electric, you would be joining a dedicated team of approximately 30 members spread across different locations globally. The team culture at Schneider emphasizes collaboration, teamwork, and supporting each other to achieve collective goals. Working closely together, team members often collaborate on projects, sharing knowledge and expertise to deliver high-quality results. You will report to the Sr. Manager, International Mobility for the Americas region, currently located in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The work setup at Schneider is hybrid, allowing employees to work remotely for 2-3 days a week. While flexibility is offered, being in the office a couple of days fosters teamwork and in-person collaboration.
Your Role
- Member of the International mobility team to facilitate the global relocation and immigration program to provide a good employee experience and service delivery
- Work collaboratively with the team to track cases and ensure deadlines are timely met.
- Consult with employees and stakeholders on international assignment and relocation offerings, including visa / work permit processing, housing, schooling, and transportation.
- Manage the physical relocation of employees, their families, and their possessions (eg. visa coordination, immigration services, moving/housing location assistance, etc.).
- Administer expatriate policies and reward packages (eg. compensation, housing allowance, tax equalization, benefit coordination, relocation expense reimbursement, etc.).
- Instruct/ work with payroll directly to administer compensation according to employee compensation packageInitiate services with outside vendors to assist with immigration, relocation, and tax services.
- Support the day-to-day operations and activities with the Immigration and relocation vendors to ensure compliance, cost-effectiveness and optimal service levels to our employees.
- Ensuring trackers and case management tools are maintained to support immigration, relocation, and tax cases.
- Utilize our international mobility service tool to prepare mobility packages, such as cost estimates, assignment letter, benefits letter etc. at the beginning of each assignment and at specific intervals such as salary increases, change in life circumstances etc.
- Monitor changes to employment status, job title, office location and salary, notify appropriate stakeholders and update employee mobility packages and payroll as needed.
- Help develop and maintain knowledge-based articles to support our "self-service" initiatives.
- Enure foreign nationals are well-informed by the vendors regarding all stages of their relocation process.
- Partner with Schneider group security team to ensure appropriate approach is implemented for assignee security; including temp/ permanent accommodations, transportation etc.
- May assist the business with monitoring foreign government policies and actions that could impact operations and/or employee safety.
- Ensure policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by vendors and stakeholders.
- Audit vendor invoices, managing the Purchase order process and payment of vendor invoices (i.e relocation management company, immigration law firm, tax consultants, etc.)
Qualifications
What You Will Bring
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
- Ability to work with proactive independence
- 5 years+, relevant experience focus on supporting International relocation programs.
- A thorough understanding of international transfers and mobility compliance requirements ( including immigration and tax)Excellent attention to detail, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive matters, maintaining privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to address complex situations and communicate impact effectively.
- Experience reviewing company policies and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills, with the ability to work cross-collaboratively across multiple internal and external teams.
- Strong project management, organizational, time management skills.
