The Instructional Architect (IA) is a learning professional that develop s technical training content used to train t echnical s ales , s ervice r epresentatives , and customer l earners on the design, operation, install, start-up, and service our new , large power products. The IA works closely with the regional pre-sales teams, service training groups , product Service Leads, and the Line of Business (LOB) to learn system requirements and any new or unique training needs and develop technical training content for their primary audience. Working together with internal teams, th e IA is accountable to multiple stakeholders for project definition and the successful development of classroom course content that meets all defined needs of the learner.

PRIMARY RESPON S IBILITIES
  • Perform Needs A ssessment s to determine the technical training requirements for all new offers that require service by internal or external Service Representatives ( SRs ) .
  • Work with key stakeholders including r egional service training teams, service operations, customer care, and other internal SE academies to define scope of learning experiences, clarify learning o utcomes , work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) , estimate a timeline , and share the projected outcomes.
  • Collaborate with SMEs from R&D and regional service training teams from around the world during content creation and implementation phases.
  • Develop training content from source material that includes Draft and Final version technical manuals, program and R&D presentations, marketing materials, vendor materials, content from previous courses, and your hands-on exposure to the new products.
  • Deliver developed content as part of a train the trainer and knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Us e our existing templates and best practices to d evelop classroom training content to train learners on our new three-phase power products . Training content typically addresse s system familiarization, major internal components, and then all knowledge and skills required to install, start-up, and service these products over their lifespan . The p rimary p roducts you will develop are PPTs for knowledge transfer in the classroom and lab activity sheets for hands-on skill practice in our training la bs; these are then pack ag ed into a Participant Guide for use and retention by the learner during their training course .
  • Whenever possible, audit Pilot Courses to redline materials, listen to learner questions that identify unmet training needs, and to evaluate the topic flow, lab activities, and course timeline . Then use these learnings to update and augment the course content as appropriate .
  • As appropriate , d evelop course material for alternate audiences using the core technical course content as a primary resource , and then augment ed to address the knowledge and skill needs of the customer end-users , internal and external audiences (e.g., technical support, sales engineers, and service partners) to provide new product familiarization training.
  • Periodically tasked with special projects on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, or over 5 years of industry experience , ideally in a f ield s ervice capacity or related functional area .
  • Experience working in the Education, Training, and Learning discipline.
  • Experience developing training materials for classroom and webinar use .
  • E xperience as an instructor for classroom or virtual delivery.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of Data Centers, Critical Cooling, and/or Electrical Power System s is highly desired but not required .
  • Understanding of , and experience with large three-phase power products (e.g., UPS, PDU, STS, Energy Storage solutions) is highly desired but not required .
  • Knowledg e of SR service duties is s trongly recommended but not required .
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics is recommended but not required .
  • Background that includes system technical training is recommended but not required .
  • E xcellent written and verbal communication skills .
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to effectively communicate with individuals from around the world.
  • Fluent in use of MS Office 365, especially PPT and Word.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently with limited oversight.
  • Must be able to multitask and quickly shift priorities or participate in special projects as directed by the needs of the business.
  • D omestic and international travel may be required .
  • Working across time zones will be required .
