The team at our Brossard plant is currently looking for a candidate for the role of Industrial Engineer, Continuous Improvement, on a full-time on-site basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting one or more production lines to improve efficiency, reduce health and safety risks, and address quality issues. The successful candidate will work closely with the production; quality, health & safety; engineering and logistics departments to fully understand the issues impacting production efficiency and, propose improvements to ensure targets are met. The candidate will also be called upon to work on various plant improvement projects.
What will you do?
- Support production by improving processes and workstations for existing product lines in innovative ways.
- Work in close collaboration with supervisors, team leaders and production line operators to understand the different stages of the process and be able to continuously improve it.
- Conduct analyses to calculate the efficiency of the various work stages in order to prioritize improvements that have an impact on production (workflows and methods).
- Optimize production lead times and ensure that load capacity is always optimal.
- Implement solutions to reduce non-value-added steps, accident risks and quality risks.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing projects.
- Manage major plant projects with multidisciplinary teams to acquire and implement new equipment and processes.
- Update and write work instructions to ensure the most effective training of new operators.
- Analyze the feasibility and profitability of investments for improvements to be implemented (BCI).
- Participate together with the health & safety or quality managers in analyzing the causes of events and the corrective actions to be taken.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
We are looking for someone with good organizational skills, who can solve complex problems and is willing to work as part of a team. The person we are looking for must be a good communicator and not be afraid to set goals to achieve results.
Technical skills and abilities :
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field.
- Engineer with 3 to 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Excel is a requirement.
- Experience in deploying continuous improvement tools.
- Ability to interact with production teams and support functions in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to evaluate and manage action plans based on global priorities to achieve defined objectives.
- Engineer member of the OIQ - an asset.
- Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure.
- Functional knowledge of French and English is required in order to facilitate collaboration with our teams, clients and stakeholders at the provincial and international levels.
