Industrial Automation Services Order Management Leader

What do you get to do in this position?

This role is accountable for managing a team of Services Order Managers (OMs) and includes:

  • First point of escalation for OM led orders
  • Participate in Order reviews
  • Perform monthly financial and progress reviews on all OM led orders
  • Review and approve expense reports
  • Facilitate communication with OMs and stakeholders for Order risk and margin deviation
  • Coach and implement the Customer Order Process for Services with the OMs
  • Accountable for OM forecasting of orders
  • Participate in process improvement

The Order Manager (OM) Leader is assigned to manage a team of order managers focused on executing Industrial Automation Services across the US. The OM leader ensures the order manager is accountable for managing small size orders (customer, affiliate, attached services, etc), from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget as well as scheduling FSRs for their own orders and Services project managers. The OM leader manages the OMs as well as the complete Order execution process from internal kickoff, customer kickoff, thru manufacturing release, product Shipment, post Shipment support and financial reconciliation utilizing a base knowledge of Schneider Electric products. Documentation, communication, and customer facing skills are critical to this position.

The OM leader holds the team accountable for the following items:
  • Ensure all Schneider Electric safety policies and requirements are met at any onsite Order locations.
  • Takes ownership for validating the Order's statement of work and contract terms with the customer and becomes lead contact for customer.
  • Develops an Order schedule and communicates with the customer to ensure expectations are being met. Direct engagement with internal manufacturing facilities and third party vendors.
  • Monitor the execution of the customer's order, verifying execution of the Order through kick-off meetings, communication to all parties and exchange of technical requirements and Order plan information. Coordination of all Schneider Electric onsite activities including subcontracting.
  • Lead the monitor and control of the performance of the customer's Order through its lifecycle. Key activities include task completion verification, Order team monitoring, managing the exchange of Order updates across the Order team members, schedule reporting, issue resolution, and contract administration.
  • Lead the closeout of the customer's Order to include financial reconciliation, verification of job site equipment arrival, installation, start-up, and training support completion through review of internal system information, contact with the customer, and coordination with support services such as field services, after-shipment support, and training functions.
  • Solves problems with customer interaction that results in positive feedback and improved relationship.
  • Utilizes a base knowledge of Schneider Electric products and their use and demonstrates an understanding of the fundamental knowledge, processes and terminology needed for effective Order management.
  • Ensure each Order is executed to meet or exceed the customer's requirements while also ensuring the Order is executed within the financial boundaries of cost and margin.
  • Communicate Order risk (technical & financial) and mitigation plans once an issue is identified. Accurately predict the financial performance for revenue recognition to include original forecast, change orders and for cost forecasts based on incurred costs, and estimate to complete
  • Utilize and offer improvements to the Order execution teams standard process, documentation and tools.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate should have:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or equivalent experience
  • PMP a plus
  • 5 + years of Order management experience
  • In-depth understanding of subcontractor management, Order financials, and risk mitigation
  • Technical knowledge of building/IT infrastructure systems, including but not limited to; medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment
  • Strong practical knowledge of operations organizations and process improvement
  • Technical understanding and communication to peers/management and client POCs
  • Experience leading and developing an Order Manager team to achieve improved results, measured through increased customer satisfaction and increase Order profitability
  • Experience supervising a technical and/or Order management staff
  • Experience providing best in class customer service in an operations environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Proficiency in SAP ECC, SAP S4 Hana and Salesforce
