Our Global Supply Chain (GSC) team are currently seeking an HSE Manager for a permanent position to be based in Gepps Cross, SA.

This site is the Gepps Cross manufacturing facility and laboratory and is the home of our Secure Power product team, creating best in class products for our customers across Australia and New Zealand.

The HSE Manager will provide the functional leadership at the Gepps Cross site for the management of HSE risks, implementation of HSE systems, and the monitoring of HSE performance and compliance.

Reporting into the Zone HSE Director, this role also acts as the key contact for Schneider Electric's Integrated Facilities Management provider and as Security Coordinator for the Gepps Cross Site and has functional dotted line reporting to the HSE and Sustainability Director Pacific Zone.

This exciting new career opportunity will see you:

  • Set up and monitor an ongoing and dynamic approach to HSE that meets internal and external requirements
  • Lead the response to HSE risks, incidents, and opportunities
  • Deploy global and local initiatives to enhance physical safety
  • Lead the analysis and reporting of performance and insights
  • Lead HSE compliance and assurance programs, and lead the response to external audits and regulator engagements
  • Deliver innovative solutions that will contribute to sustainability objectives such as energy efficiency and circularity
  • Support the implementation of health, wellbeing, and injury management programs.


This is an on-site position, requiring attendance at our Ingleburn Site 5 days a week. Requests for flexible arrangements can be accommodated from time to time.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability (or a similar relevant discipline)
  • 8+ years of experience in a Manufacturing or Industrial Warehousing environment as an HSE subject matter expert or HSE Manager
  • A background and a proven ability to manage operational risk in a highly regulated environment including those associated with machine safety, assembly line ergonomics, materials handling, and workshops
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups and strong commercial acumen
  • Demonstrated regulatory and standards compliance
  • ICAM Investigation certification and Cert IV Health and Safety will be highly regarded
  • A growth mindset through well-developed digital skills and a technical aptitude
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to promote Schneider Electric's commitment to safety and sustainability
