Schneider Electric's Kolding office is seeking a talented Hardware Engineer to join our R&D team and contribute to the development of our advanced downscaled hardware platform. This critical platform, known as our "simulator," plays a pivotal role in the development and testing of new products across our global R&D organization. As we expand our technological capabilities and increase our simulation units, we are looking for a skilled professional to support mainly the hardware aspects of this growth.

Be part of a collaborative and creative environment

You will be an integral part of a small creative team structured around the Scrum framework. We work in an exciting area constantly adapting to integrate new features and better technologies. In this role, you'll need to balance independent initiative with collaborative teamwork. We are looking for someone who has a relevant engineering degree in combination with some years of experience in HW design and development or you could also be a new graduate with the right profile and interest within the subject.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new hardware modules for our development platform
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing hardware solutions
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of our current systems while maintaining attention to detail in complex situations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new hardware into our existing systems
  • Might also include development of drivers and application layer between micro controller and user interface

Specific qualifications & requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong background in hardware design and development, including Digital and Analog Circuit Design & knowledge of Power Electronics (experience with converters is a plus)
  • Familiarity with C programming and Python
  • Capable of solving complex tasks in creative and effective ways
  • Reliable and analytical with excellent communication skills
  • Structured mindset and proactive attitude
  • Strong team player with a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Open-minded and committed to fostering an inclusive workplace
  • Sense of urgency and ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Full English proficiency, both written and oral

Beneficial but not required:
  • Understanding of LabVIEW
  • Experience with TestStand
  • Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM processes
  • Experience implementing hardware into existing systems
