Key responsibilities:

  • Maintenance & Repairs: Perform regular maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and reliability of facility systems.
  • Energy Management: Monitor and optimize energy consumption, identifying opportunities for energy-saving initiatives.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Project Management: Plan and oversee facility improvement projects, coordinating with contractors and vendors as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and safety inspections.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to facility emergencies and provide technical support during crisis situations.

Skills and attributes:
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in facilities engineering or maintenance management.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer-aided facility management (CAFM) software.
