This position is opened within the Anticipation team within Schneider Digital's Intelligent Edge organization, which supports innovation and platforming program for Schneider Electric Business Units and Lines of Business on their Industrial IoT offers.

The "Schneider Electric Digital" (SED) Zephyr platform is a strategic technology disruption program. It aims to adapt the Zephyr solution to the company standard as well as to transform the company processes to embrace open-source development. All this to enable the use of this disruptive technology inside future Schneider Electric products. The first team objective is to codevelop a platform pilot with one product team.
What will you do?
As technical leader in the SED Zephyr platform team, you will design, develop, and maintain the code, tools and processes needed to use this technology in an industrial R&D environment. Collaborating with teammates and users from all around our world.
This position will also require you to interact with multiple stakeholders and several organizations to create consistent, adapted, and cross-validated solutions. You should also ensure the full consistency and complementary of the solution with the opensource code and processes, as well as already in place processes and within the corporate rules.
- Technical lead for embedded software development on the Zephyr platform
- Writing documentation for developers and users
- Technical and methodological definition of the platform
- Maintenance and evolution of the solution
- Participation in governance
- Test writing (white box, and unit)
- Validation and animation of pull-requests
- Co-platform Advocate
- User project support
- Assist the delivery owner
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Engineer or master's degree in Computer Science
- +10 years, including +5 years as an architect or technical leader in embedded development.
- Strong experience in embedded development on MCU targets
- RTOS expert; scheduling and synchronization of tasks
- Test, Integrate, and Automate (CI/CD)
- Programming languages: C, Knowledge of Python
- Git code management, testing, automated builds
- Knowledge of Linux (Posix, device tree, open-source, Licensing)
- Good level of oral and written English (B2/C1)
Appreciated technical knowledge:
- Zephyr RTOS
- Use of open-source licenses
- Contribution to open-source projects
Required qualities:
- Experience in software platform development
- Enjoy architected and scalable code development.
- Appetite for new technologies and methodologies
- Will to build state of the art solution in all its aspects, tools, documentation, methodology, CI/CD, tests, maintenance...
- Enjoy teamwork, easy communication, skill sharing, and able to support less experienced developers.
Appreciated qualities:
- Able to manage sometimes contradictory customer requests.
- Able to make a technical presentation.
