JOB FUNCTION:

Responsible for the management and the operations of designated laboratories in a business

unit or division within a business unit. Responsible for the development and achievement of

operating plans, goals and budgets including capital for their designated labs. Manages the

staff and daily activity of the labs. Partners with management of engineering, laboratory

operations and business units to ensure customer satisfaction and achievement of business

objectives. May participate in corporate or regional initiatives to address and resolve

laboratory quality, technical consistency, and testing accuracy issues.

Actively working with Global labs of Schneider to manage best practices and ensure follow global guidelines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

  1. Directs the establishment of appropriate testing programs and the coordination of laboratory activities within the designated laboratories.


  1. Recognizes and tracks the development of requirements for test procedures beyond the scope of existing standards and requirements involving unique features and requiring the use of independent judgment.


  1. Administers the development and maintenance of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.

4. Establishes and maintains the test proficiency training program and competencies for

laboratory personnel.

5. Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing

performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all

policies are understood and adhered to.

6. Implements policies, procedures, and practices mandated for the laboratories to

ensure compliance to ISO 17025 as well as other defined accreditation requirements.

7. Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job

utilizing the Lean Sigma approach.

8. Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification/Experience:

University degree in Engineering or related field plus generally 8 to 10 years of related

experience including at least four years of relevant management/leadership experience.

Demonstrated ability to manage department objectives, staffing and budgets.

Good knowledge on Test equipment's, IEC and International Standards related to Schneider products.

Experience in LAB management and LAB Building.

Detailed knowledge of product testing methodologies.

Detailed knowledge of industry issues, needs, and problems.
