What will you do?

  • Lead & Managing End to End product design lifecycle and development of Electromechanical products in Global markets for Home & Distribution business for Wiring devices & Final Distribution offers.
  • Lead the Engineering project teams for electromechanical scope and the different manufacturing technologies for the development of new Offers or the evolution of existing Offers. As part of a new product project and/or product design evolution, takes responsibility for management of a Electromechanics/ Electrotechnology dedicated project technical team and technology.
  • Guarantees performance and robustness, accountable for engineering quality and contributes to cost targets and ensure Time to market/TTM.
  • Business support at the SQUAD level for technical decisions, technical risks management, commitment in design feasibility according to constraints optimization. Ensure a Robustness & Reliable Design.
  • Design offers from technical specifications to meet customer values expectations and quality goals with respect to supply chains constraints.
  • Validates bill of materials and CAD drawings of parts and sub-assemblies in accordance with technical specifications, customer expectations and supply chain constraints. Responsible for the validation of FAIRs and Pilot Run reviews.
  • Executes assigned product designs changes- drawings and BOMs (bill of materials) according to given technical specifications using dedicated tools (software, database, 2D and 3D CAD system).
  • Responsible for engineering analysis activities, including Thermal, Electromagnetic, Dynamical and Structural, to ensure the adequate performance, quality, and reliability of the product, as well as compliance to ratings, product specifications and standard requirements (IS, IEC).

  • Create and execute verification & validation plans in SE laboratories and the analysis of results & shares reports to internal and external customers (with possible support). Apply methodical problem-solving & Root-cause analysis techniques.
  • Interpret test results and synthesize data into technical reports to effectively convey summary and conclusions to audience (e.g. peers, management, product owners, scrum masters).
  • Lead the creation and update of Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (Interaction Matrix, P-Diagram, xFMEAs, FTA) documents to reflect product design changes.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, instructions/assistance to other senior engineers or functions (Product Owners and Scrum Masters).
  • Contribute actively to knowledge and know-how development and sharing.


What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
  • Bachelor's in science/mechanical engineering. Electrical Engineering or equivalent expertise in electromechanical design in electrical distribution products. Master's in science/technology will be an advantage.
  • Must have 9+ years of relevant experience in Electromechanical/Mechatronics mass production industries.
  • AGILE Methodology knowledge and experience - SCRUM.
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). 3D CAD Modeling.
  • Deep knowledge on Plastics, Metal & Bimetal alloys.
  • Knowledge on electrical conductor calculations, Snap design, Spring selection & design.
  • Experience in electrical product testing and evaluation methods (IS, IEC).
  • Knowledge of CAE (Ex, Structural, Thermal, Kinematics, etc) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and methodologies.
  • Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly & Design for Testing techniques.
  • Deep knowledge on Design robustness & reliability framework.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Bachelor's in science/mechanical engineering. Electrical Engineering or physics, or related field. Master's in science/technology will be an advantage.
  • Teamwork and leadership abilities. Demonstrated ability to lead R&D projects.
  • Interpersonal skills (ability to interact with other functions, Front Office & Customers).
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a multicultural virtual environment across various functions (design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, manufacturing operations and others).
