We are looking for an Electrical Power Engineer to join our R&D in Kolding, Denmark.

Your role and contribution will primarily be sizing of Protection circuits, conductor/cable sizing and Grounding systems. The role also include develop ment and sustaining type of work related to electrical designs, main circuit diagrams with special focus on large 3-phase Uninterruptible Power Supply ( UPS) and power converters target Datacentre use cases.

You will join a dynamic and agile team, where we work passionately with product development and sustaining end to end activities.

Responsibilit y areas
  • Specify and qualify new or alternative electrical components (breakers, fuses, contactors, switches, overvoltage protective devices, power cables, Silicon controlled rectifiers (SCR)), for UPS applications.
  • Specify, document, and draw power cables, cable harness for UPS or power converters and electrical main circuit diagrams.
  • Participate, support or lead design reviews, ensure electrical hardware design with standard compliance, and write design specifications.
  • Do specification, qualification, including laboratory preparation, testing , troubleshooting, reporting .
  • Support, advice, train, coach other team members regarding technical subject matters .
  • Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders and factories assembly engineers to optimize the design for manufacturing, cost, and quality .


Your experience , education, and qualifications

You have minimum a B.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering and ideally combined with an Electrician background as well. You are fluent in English . You have experience in product development, and preferably also in Agile product development methodology .

You must have:
  • Knowledge in electrical components (Power Cable, busbars, breakers, fuses, contactors, Surge protective devices, etc );
  • Knowledge or interest in national electrical codes / standards
  • Knowledge of grounding systems and short circuit protection
  • Drawings, technical documentation, and main circuit diagrams
  • Experience or interest in Labs hands-on and troubleshooting.


If you also have experience in some of below areas, it will be an advantage:
  • 3 phase UPS Electrical design
  • Short circuit simulations
  • Design for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
  • Power design studies - interconnects, system balancing, arc flash, harmonics
  • Compliance IEC eg. 62477-1 or 62040 or UL 1778 or UL 1741.
