Downstream Production Scheduler

Mission :

Create and maintain production schedules in order to ensure that all company goals are achieved and that deadlines are met

Key responsibilities:

  • Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors the flow of materials through the complete production cycle. Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor in order to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates.
  • Ensure all production orders are scheduled with all customer requirements, Review open sales orders to determine customer requirements, coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule.
  • Utilize ERP system to auto-generate manufacturing work orders
  • Coordinate between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages, notify commercial teams of any schedule impacts to customers, completes status reports, such as production progress, customer information and materials inventory
  • Launch production orders in to manufacturing with relevant documentation, communicate concerns with material/component availability, equipment failures, customer demands, engineering changes, and deviations that impact the attainment of the production schedule
  • Liaise with MRP controllers ensuring material availability for production, analyse material shortage conditions, follow up with supply chain and recommend corrective actions daily
  • Ensure all production orders are scheduled with all customer requirements
  • Launch production orders in to manufacturing with relevant documentation
  • Liaise with production team to ensure capacity availability
  • Regular communication with commercial team to provide customer order updates
  • Compile and report key department metrics including customer on time deliveries (OTD), root cause analysis and action plans
  • Prepare and lead production schedule review meetings
  • Coordinates activity with Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, and Project Management

Skills and attributes:
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Ability to interact well with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Proficient use of computer systems and software applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software preferred.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years production planning experience in a related industry
