Distinguished Global Enterprise Architect - Strategy and Practice
As an Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for leading and enhancing the company's Enterprise Architecture strategy and practice that supports business growth, innovation, and efficiency across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies, excellent leadership capabilities, ability to drive transformational change in a complex environment, and a proven track record of analyzing, designing, implementing, and governing strategic architecture of large enterprises. This role requires collaboration with business leaders and technology teams to align digital initiatives with business goals, ensuring that our technology architecture supports the organization's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement an enterprise architecture strategy that aligns with the organization's business objectives and supports growth and innovation.
- Lead the development and evolution of enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability across the organization.
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to IT teams and stakeholders, fostering a culture of architectural excellence and continuous improvement.
Mature Enterprise Architecture Practice:
- Assess the current state of the enterprise architecture practice and identify opportunities for improvement and maturity.
- Develop and implement a roadmap to evolve the enterprise architecture practice, incorporating industry best practices and innovative approaches.
- Ensure enterprise architecture-related documentation and artifacts are well organized and easy to find in the predefined repository.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness and maturity of the enterprise architecture practice, driving continuous improvement efforts.
- Continuously assess and refine the EA practice, methodologies, and processes.
- Ensure the enterprise architecture teams are equipped with the necessary skills and tools to meet organizational needs.
Evolve Ways of Working:
- Lead initiatives to improve the ways of working within the Enterprise Architecture team, promoting agility, collaboration, and innovation.
- Lead the implementation of new tools, methodologies, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in architectural design and decision-making.
- Foster a culture of learning and adaptability within the team, encouraging experimentation and the adoption of new technologies and practices.
- Foster a culture of innovation and encourage the exploration of new architectural approaches and solutions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies and best practices to drive innovation and ensure the enterprise architecture remains modern and future-proof.
Establish KPIs for Effectiveness and Value Delivery:
- Define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the enterprise architecture team and the value delivered to the organization.
- Establish reports on the performance of the enterprise architecture function, highlighting achievements and identifying areas for improvement.
- Use data-driven insights to continuously refine and enhance the enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring it delivers maximum value to the organization.
Architecture Development:
- Provide leadership and oversee the creation of a comprehensive EA blueprint that describes the current and future state architecture that support business growth, operational efficiency, and innovation.
- Oversee the design and implementation of complex enterprise-wide solutions, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and secure.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the organization.
- Develop and maintain an enterprise-wide architecture roadmap, ensuring alignment with business and IT strategies.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Build strong relationships with business and IT leaders to ensure alignment of technology initiatives with the business goals.
- Collaborate with business leaders and key stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure buy-in for architectural decisions.
- Communicate architectural vision, strategy, and goals to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring buy-in and support for strategic initiatives.
- Work closely with project managers, solution architects, and other IT professionals to ensure the successful implementation of architectural solutions.
- Facilitate ongoing communication and publicity efforts for the Enterprise Architecture within both the information technology community and various business units.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing across the organization.
Governance and Compliance:
- Establish and enforce architectural governance processes and standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits of the technology landscape to ensure adherence to architectural principles and guidelines.
- Develop risk management strategies to identify architectural risks and mitigate potential issues related to IT architecture and ensure business continuity.
- Address and resolve complex architectural issues, providing expert guidance and solutions.
We prefer this individual to be located in Boston or Nashville but will consider other locations in the United States.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, ITIL, Agile) are preferred.
- Extensive experience in IT architecture design, implementation, and management.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF, Zachman, or others.
- Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to align technology solutions with business strategies.
- Proficiency in architectural modeling tools and techniques.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex technical requirements and constraints.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to drive transformational change and innovation within an organization.
- Project management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple initiatives.
- Experience with cloud-based architectures, enterprise-level applications, and integration technologies.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in enterprise architecture, with at least 7 years in a senior or leadership role within a large corporation.
