The Director of Engineering - Wiser is a strategic engineering executive responsible for leading the development and delivery of software and firmware systems within the Schneider Electric Wiser offer. This role will oversee multiple subsystem teams and ensure they are well resourced to deliver the strategic vision for the Wiser portfolio over the medium and long term. This position requires a proven engineering leader with a strong systems engineering background, a passion for sustainable technology, and a demonstratable ability to manage and liaise with cross-functional engineering teams within the organisation.

R esponsibilities :
- Define and drive the long-term engineering vision and short-medium term technical roadmap for the Wiser portfolio.
- Lead and inspire multidisciplinary engineering teams across software and firmware.
- Oversee efficient and timely delivery of deliverables in support of strategic priorities
- Collaborate closely with the rest of the Prosumer and HEMS EIC Software leadership team to provide visibility of the activities of the technology organisation
- Align engineering objectives with overall product and business goals.
- Define and execute the resourcing strategy across multiple geographically disperse markets to ensure the company has sufficient capability to deliver on strategic projects while also managing costs efficiently
- Build scalable processes for systems architecture, quality assurance, and release management
- Drive continuous improvement, including bug management, technical debt reduction
- Maintain Platform performance and stability through tracking operational KPIs and responding to incidents in a timely manner
- Manage and continually develop the capabilities of a high performing technology team
- Monitor and optimise the company's operational expenditure on technology
Knowledge, Skills & Atributes
- Proven experience in a senior systems engineering leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to lead and scale high-performing technical teams globally
- Demonstrable ability to run an effective hiring process for a variety of different roles within the technology organisation
- Deep understanding of embedded systems, including software and firmware development cycles
- Strong systems engineering thinking and integration experience across multiple engineering disciplines
- Deep understanding of how to leverage various data sources to empower stakeholders and drive informed decision making
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
