Schneider Digital is the digital department of Schneider Electric, leading the digital transformation in the company by giving support globally to our internal teams and our clients. We are seeking a Principal, Digital Product Owner to join our team. As part of the digital capability team, your mission is to ensure that the global pricing solutions match the necessities of the customers, markets, and business. Collaborate among them and with different departments to maximize the value of our global solutions, support the discussion to understand the business requirements and provide design engineering services to project teams.
You also master the portfolio of local applications covering the process for which you are responsible. You are thus able to identify areas for optimizing the portfolio that could reduce the group's technical debt and to explain the differences in functional coverage of the various tools.
Main responsibilities
For global applications under our management scope:
You are accountable for the execution of the vision of the capability owner by the engineering development team (DevOps team), being the interface between them:
- Owns feature roadmaps and follow up the delivery with the platform owner and the engineering development team.
- Documents story details (functional documentation) based on the epics after reviewing with Domain Capability Owner, Engineers, and Architects
- Collaborates with Domain Capability Owner and Platform Owner to address customer needs and enable use cases
- Identify and analyse business needs, conduct requirements gathering, and define objectives
- Leads backlog grooming to decompose and estimate stories, clarifies requirements for engineers and designers
- Perform Demo of solution enhancements, accountable and ownership of Solution Process and training new team members on E2E Solution Business Process
- Accountable for updating business requirements into existing documentation
- Responsible for performing impact analysis of new requirements on existing solution and run countries
- Support champions during UAT execution and participate into the testing, update test cases.
- Support the Domain Capability Owner and Digital Change Manager to prepare release notes & communication
- Act as solution ambassador
As part of the digitalization of new processes in global solutions under our management scope:
- Participate in the grooming sessions (technical and with business) and earlier calls to understand the process flows and their translation in user stories
- Enhance user stories considering E2E flow and tools (consider the full picture)
- Consider user experience journey in the design and validation of the user stories to support users' adoption
- Build functional design document where all functionalities and requirements are explained at least at functional level
- Test user stories during the sprint testing and participate in the UAT, E2E and integration tests. Be Accountable for Unit Testing and Communication to stake holders
- Be able to challenge the domain product owner / requestor
- Understand and master the data needed for the process and being part of the tool (Company parameters tables used, transactional data and master data used)
- Understand the integration with other tools (interfaces with SAP, CPQ, MySE,...)
- Be the Guardian of the compliance to the guidelines in what is digitized
- Lead and coordinate the definition of the deployment methodology
- Perform Knowledge transfer sessions to the deployment team
- Stay strongly involved in the first deployments after pilot
- Identify and anticipate issues across projects
- Leverage lessons learned and share experience from previous project to support continuous improvements and spread good practices
- Be the first point of contact in case of issue or additional check that may be required. If necessary, contact the solution team
For improvement of existing solutions under our management scope
- Groom the Ideas and/or user stories together with the product owner, ensuring that it is well understood and providing all the necessary information so that Solution team can take over it
- Participate in the UAT release: test together with the product owner all user stories delivered and understand what has been changed and that acceptance criteria are fulfilled
- Explain to different stakeholders the changes that have been delivered in the release and how it is going to work (high level).
- Provide visibility to the deployment team on the coming release backlog
- Keep functional and deployment documentation up to date
For local applications in the pricing applications' portfolio
- You are in regular contact with application owners to understand their functional coverage. You are responsible for identifying possible synergies with global tools and proposing replacement strategies to reduce technical debt. For new entries into the portfolio, you ensure that no other option is already available in the existing portfolio.
- You participate to RFP/RFI to identify new applications/vendors to answer local needs.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- 8+ years of relevant experience acting as a liaison between the business / end users and digital solution teams (technical)
- Strong Experience and knowledge of SAP SD, Groovy (nice to have)
- Strong business understanding
- Consulting knowledge and experience in evaluating customer requirements.
- Good knowledge of Agile principles and process
- Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict
- Knowledgeable in techniques to fill in gaps in the scrum
- Transversal (Cross BU, Cross Functions) or mutli-country (Cluster, Zone or Global) work experience is an advantage
- Nice to have: Prior experience in Schneider network
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Change management orientation
- Strong English (Written and Spoken) (mandatory)
- Ability to cooperate and work in multicultural environment
- Listening, negotiation, leadership, decision making
- Communication and teaching oriented, knowledge transfer ability.
