What will be your role?
Join Schneider Electric Design team! We are fast growing and we want to do so healthily. Our Mission is to oversee
internationally all digital design within Schneider Electric, to infuse the design culture in the company, and to
deploy the design system. We create consistent, enjoyable, and memorable experiences for our users.
We are looking for a leader to grow, motivate, and manage a distributed team of designers within the India region.
This individual will report directly to the regional R&D leader with a dotted line to the global design leader for
Digital Energy. The role will bridge our Digital Energy mission of "helping customers achieve decarbonization,
resiliency & efficiency through digitalization of buildings and power" with our UX Design mission to "create
consistent, enjoyable, and impactful experiences". The India Design Chapter Leader will excel in bringing these
aspects together, infusing design culture into the company, and scaling through systems and collaboration. This is
design work with a purpose.
This role is expected to lead by example across the UX design process. You and your team will apply and evolve
Schneider's global UX standards to address both local and global user needs. Expect a starting team size of about 5
designers with potential to double over the next 2 years. Through user research initiatives, you will deeply

mentor a UX team with specialties across our design career matrix while fostering relationships and collaboration
with other functions and design groups. Successful candidates should have a record of influencing and
collaborating with technical and business leaders including the following:
Global Design: Align design patterns, interface components, and overall experience to the Schneider Electric brand.
Use, extend, and contribute to our global design system, Quartz. Both adopt and inform best practices for
discovery, accessibility, research, and design operations. Be an active member of the design community and center
of excellence for use-cases within the region.
Product Management: Define user journeys and experience strategies for complex technical workflows. Identify
meaningful measurements, instrument products, and analyze feedback for iterative and ongoing improvement.
Ensure business goals align with design goals and that your team is providing design artifacts at the appropriate
resolution. Provide design and experience inputs to the product roadmap.
Development: Hire and develop design capability in tight coordination with development team requirements and
geographies. Balance discovery and delivery resource needs within scrum team rituals and schedules. Listen to and
understand technical constraints while advocating for user interests.
You will be responsible for
• User-centered design. Apply different tools and methodologies required for the problem, timing, and
context. Be transparent and guide colleagues in product management and engineering across stages of
the design process.
• Facilitation and co-design. Prepare and lead workshops to align teams and converge on a common
product and service vision. Include others and motivate with curiosity, a constant interest to learn, and
default to doing.
• Culture and advocacy. Be a representative of design and user advocate within Schneider Electric. Promote
our digital ecosystem, strengthen the brand, and form a unified experience.
• Systems thinking. Expand and adjust perspectives to understand the problem space. Empathize with users
and colleagues and appreciate a diversity of inputs.
• Data driven. Know how to use and analyze qualitative and quantitative data in decision making. Design
interactions that empower users with information and collect data as a natural part of the experience.
As a design leader, this role is expected to grow and maintain the quality of their team's work through design
critiques, inspiring curiosity & creativity, and ensuring broad collaboration. You will primarily lead an India-local
team with expertise across different product lines and businesses, but you will also act as point of contact for other
design and business leaders outside the region. You are responsible for nurturing your team member's careers
through goal setting, performance and development reviews, and generally being a great human that people love
to work with. You will need to identify appropriate times to delegate for the purpose of production or
developmental opportunities and when to personally drive and set a standard.
This job is for you
• >15 years of design experience plus >5 years leading teams
• Background in complex B2B enterprise software products.
• Bachelor's degree in a design field, human-computer interaction, fine arts, or equivalent experience.
