The 3Phase business as part of Data Center Systems LOB is facing a significant and sustainable growth. The DCS team is expanding in India to meet the business growth demand and has established a state-of-the-art high power 3Phase R&D lab in Bangalore .

We are looking for a Electromechanical technical leader in our 3 Phase PDU team who is passionate to work on all stages of product life cycle and to manage technical team . This role requires a strong technical leader who can effectively manage and lead a team while driving innovation and ensuring technical excellence p roducts related to 3Phase UP S, PDU a nd Its Auxiliary

  • Lead and oversee all mechanical design and sustaining activities within the R&D department.


  • Provide technical leadership and guidance in the development and improvement of mechanical systems and components.


  • Make critical decisions on design approaches, material selections, and engineering methodologies.


  • Manage the mechanical engineering team, including people management, task assignment, performance management, and professional development.


  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.


  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes, quality, and efficiency.


  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.


  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence within the mechanical engineering team.


  • Provide direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing and developing engineering solutions and coordinating projects for mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling for products.


  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives , timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps. Have accountability for results of major programs in terms of cost, direction and quality.


  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.


  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.


  • Provides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.


  • Continuous improvement: Guiding the team and business towards implementing new technologies and improving existing ones


  • Technical standards: Maintaining , driving, supervising, and implementing robust technical standards, systems, and processes


  • Compliance: Providing direction and support to ensure compliance with relevant legislative specifications and standards


  • Researching new materials, technologies, and processes to incorporate into designs


  • Participate and where necessary lead design reviews, communicate ideas and solutions, influence decisions and problem solving.


  • Validate and document design solutions ensuring they are robust and reliable by using relevant tools and techniques such as computerized 3D modelling, prototyping, FMEA, FEA, life testing, load testing etc. Evaluate outcomes and act as required .


  • Design Reliable/Robust systems and components that meet the end customer requirement adapting Agile methodology


  • Value Engineering, Optimizing mechanical design based on competing demands of performance, size, weight, cost, and time


Requirements and skills:

This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to drive innovation and excellence within a mechanical engineering team .

  • Proven working experience in leading mechanical design and sustaining activities in an R&D environment.


  • Proven track record in providing technical leadership and guidance in the development and improvement of mechanical systems and components.


  • Experience in managing a mechanical engineering team, including people management, task assignment, performance management, and professional development.


  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical engineering principles, design tools, and analysis methods.


  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to make sound decisions, provide technical guidance, and effectively manage a team.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team management and cross-functional collaboration.


  • Experience with computerized 3D modeling, prototyping, FMEA, FEA, life testing, and load testing for validating and documenting design solutions.


  • Proficiency in using Creo, AutoCAD or other softwares . B asic knowledge of Engg.analysis tools (ANSYS, ProMechanica l or similar)


  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills.


Qualification :

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Relevant R&D Experience: 1 4 to 1 7 Years
