Data Steward Is responsible for the management and proficiency of

Business Expertise

• Understands how the data is defined, manufactured, identified, maintained, delivered and consumed.

Data Monitoring

• Is responsible of consistency of data across systems (quality, security, confidentiality).
• Monitors Data KPIs, and leads data corrections if required
• (Optional) Is delegated the Data Access approval

Operational Activities

• Executes data correction programs
• Identifies pain points around Data lifecycle to share with Data Domain Owner

Data Steward competencies

• Is part of business operations team with a specific responsibility around managing data
• Was a data analyst or a data engineer who works closely with the data and is a reference on data knowledge by stakeholders
• Understands stakes around security & privacy for Data access
• Has an in-depth understanding of the Data lifecycle
• Is knowledgeable about existing data management frameworks (eg. DCAM) and new models of data organization (eg. Data Mesh)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information technology , business administration, data science or a related field. In-depth knowledge of data modeling, data integration and data configuration. Strong understanding of database concepts.
