Home & Distribution (Connected Offers) is a division of Schneider Electric focusing on smart home IoT systems designed to bring sustainability, energy efficiency and comfort to residential and small buildings. We are seeking a Data Scientist to work in our smart home and energy management platform team. You will be in charge of the data pipeline creation, data preparation and cleansing, data analysis and visualization tools in order to help measuring the performance of our solutions and help making decision for new features and improvements.

We design smart connected products and services, this includes, physical devices installed within the home, the cloud platforms that support data collection and analytics, and the Mobile Apps that allow the user to monitor and control the solution.
You will be working within a multi-disciplined engineering team working in an Agile framework and you will be in charge of coordinating the activities related to:
- Preparing data sets and running simulations to test our Energy Management algorithms.
- Collaborating with the wider Schneider DS community (ex : AI Hub) on improving or integrating new algos developed within the group
- Collaborating with the wider R&D teams and external partners to evaluate alternative or new features and benchmark performance with competition.
- Coordinating activities to learn from the data available through our installed base, provide statistics or analyse feature usage and performance on real data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Gather and structure data from various sources, interpret and exploit it to make informed business decisions, and recommend improvements for data systems.
- Pattern Identification: Identify trends within data sets and analyse results to provide actionable insights.
- Result Analysis: Work with business teams to understand needs, collect and interpret data, report findings, and design data dashboards for business applications.
- Data Modeling & Use Case Preparation: Prepare case-relevant data, identify anomalies, and interpret data to predict future trends.
- Model Creation & Algorithm Implementation: Identify critical model features, reduce datasets to relevant data, and implement cutting-edge machine learning algorithms.
- Results Synthesis & Industrialization: Present findings to the business and collaborate with AI engineers for model deployment.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Offer mentoring, instructions, and assistance to team members, and help establish internal procedures and best practices.
- Agile Development: Design and develop complex data management, artificial intelligence, and analytic models and applications in Agile mode.
- Coding & Debugging: Perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process.
What qualifications will make you successful in this role?
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in mathematics / statistics / electrical engineering / energy management.
- 2 years minimum of related experience in data science, with a proven track record of successful projects, ideally in industry sector on consumer facing applications.
- Experience in the energy sector will be a differentiating asset.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
- Expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis, and various data science tools and methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills to synthesize complex findings into clear insights and actions for non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative team player who can work closely with cross-functional teams, including AI engineers, to bring predictive models to production.
- Ability to design intuitive data dashboards that serve business needs.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and application development processes.
