For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $112,000 - $168,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric has a challenging opportunity for a passionate individual to assume the role of Data Engineer, System.AI Services in our Power Systems and Services division.

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer for AI to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining the data infrastructure required for AI and machine learning projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a deep understanding of data architecture, and experience in handling large-scale data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Pipeline Development:

- Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines to support AI and machine learning models.

- Ensure data is collected, stored, and processed efficiently and reliably.

- Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources.

2. Data Management:

- In collaboration with Technical delivery team, manage and maintain databases and data warehouses.

- Ensure data integrity, quality, and availability for AI applications.

- Implement data governance and security measures to protect sensitive information.

3. Collaboration:

- Work closely with data scientists, AI researchers, and software engineers to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into AI products and services.

4. Optimization and Performance:

- Monitor and improve the performance of data systems.

- Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for speed and efficiency.

- Implement indexing, partitioning, and other optimization techniques.

5. Innovation and Improvement:

- Stay updated with the latest advancements in data engineering and AI technologies.

- Continuously seek opportunities to improve existing data infrastructure and processes.

- Contribute to the development of best practices and standards in data engineering.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data systems, processes, and architectures.

- Prepare regular reports on data pipeline performance, data quality, and system reliability.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on supporting AI or machine learning projects.

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.

- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).

- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services.

- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.

- Knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy best practices.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with AI and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
