What will you do?

The Secure Power Software Sales team is seeking a dynamic individual for the crucial role of Western North American Data Center Software Systems Engineer. This key position involves working along side the Software Sales team members in the region to provide technical knowledge and lead advanced conversations and relationships for the Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Data Center Software offer. The primary responsibilities for this role include:

  • Deliver engaging product presentations, demonstrations and lead insightful solution discovery conversations.
  • Develop innovative technical solutions for customer projects.
  • Review specifications and create compelling project proposals during the pre-sales cycle.
  • Coordinate with Schneider Electric Software Services to provide design installation information and support, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Build a robust knowledge base in EcoStruxure IT Data Center Infrastructure Management suite, as well as other Schneider Electric digital offers.

This role could involve approximately 25 percent travel within the North America region and will report directly to the Program Director for Systems Engineering and Software Services. The compensation plan will primarily be based on EcoStruxure IT Data Center Infrastructure Management software sales performance of the territory.

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $128, 480.00 - $192, 720.00 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.

Who will you report to?
  • This role will report to the Program Director for Systems Engineering and Software Services, Strategic Accounts Organization.

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A master's degree or MBA may be preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience: Significant experience (typically 5-7 years) in software services, data center operations, or related fields, with a proven track record of technical sales and customer management.
  • Customer Engagement: Proven experience in engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and building strong relationships to drive customer success.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to provide strategic input, contribute to offer evolution, and align software solutions with customer needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience in collaborating with various teams such as Line of Business, Direct and Indirect Sales, and Operations, demonstrating strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of data center operations, software solutions, and the broader software solutions landscape, with a focus on Schneider Electric offerings.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong background regarding IT infrastructure, including networking, cybersecurity, software and database layers.
  • Detail Oriented: Focus on attention for details and discovery to ensure proper scoping and proposal generation for solution (products and services) for optimal customer experience.
