EV Connect is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Architect with 7+ years proven experience designing, developing, and implementing end-to-end data solutions. A Data Architect who shares our passion for electric vehicles and their ability to positively impact transportation, air quality and energy independence for generations to come.
Collaborate with smart colleagues who want to make a difference by advancing EV Connect's cloud SaaS platform, mobile/mobile-web applications, portals and integrations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely alongside product managers, technical leads and development teams in designing data solutions and applications using EMR/Spark, Kinesis, Redshift, Python, SQL, and AWS methods (or equivalent with Azure: Databricks , event hub, function app, synapse).
- Follow emerging technologies and trends and evaluate solutions, adopting them when appropriate based on technical and business objectives .
- Architect enterprise grade batch and real-time data pipelines and data processing solutions in AWS or Azure.
- Evaluate business needs and priorities, liaise with key stakeholders and address team needs related to big data systems and management.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications; establish and define details, definitions, and requirements of applications, components, and enhancements.
- Clearly and crisply communicate architectural designs, plans, and standards

YOU SHOULD HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:
- Theoretical and practical expertise in all aspects related to data management, including data architecture and design.
- Cloud database technologies, data ingestion, data storage, real-time processing and analytics.
- Database and analytical technologies like MongoDB, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, Data Lake design, Data Warehouse design, BI reporting and Dashboarding.
- Programming/scripting languages with Python or SQL.
- Designing and implementing data solutions using Amazon or Azure equivalents for
- cloud storage , data stream processing , serverless interactive quer ies , big data platform in cloud , serverless integration service , cloud data warehouse , Kafka, Elasticsearch, MongoDB.
- Azure services such as API Management, Service bus, Queue storage, CosmosDB or AWS Cloud services such as SNS, SQS, VPC, Lambda, IAM, AWS API Gateway.
WE'D LIKE TO TALK TO YOU IF:
- You have 7+ years of experience in data engineering with an emphasis on data analytics and reporting.
- Hands on experience leading large-scale data related and/or database projects.
- You have experience building or optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills, including technical and process documents.
- Working knowledge of cloud native architectures and best practices in Azure or AWS Cloud.
- Azure certification or AWS Big Data Certification, AWS Database Speciality, or AWS Analytics Specialty Certification.
- You hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant work history.

- You have EV industry experience with station integration or open protocols like OCPP, OCPI or OpenADR
