The Customs Classification Engineer, part of the Global Classification Center of Excellence (CoE) team, reports to the Global Classification CoE Global Lead (Tax & Customs). Utilizing their engineering background, they define Customs classification codes for all SE product ranges. This role ensures SE's compliance in cross-border transactions and provides secure data to customers. The position is based in Poland with potential business trips .

- Accountable for Customs classification of commercial reference products.
- Collect and analyze technical data from LoB product experts.
- Upload data into SE's global customs automated trade tool database.
- Review existing product Customs classifications for accuracy.
- Identify potential duty optimization and risk mitigation measures.
- Prepare defense positions and arguments for Customs Authorities during audits or inquiries.
- Monitor and update product classifications based on global and country legislation.
- Prepare periodic reports and metrics to ensure database robustness.
- Support other Customs classification-related projects.
Main Contacts:
- Outside Group: Customs Administrations, Customs Brokers, Consultants, and Vendors.
- Within the Group: Global supply chain teams, Product Engineers, Export Control organization, Customs & Trade Compliance managers, Masterdata, Data analytics, and Innovation Teams.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of HS Codes, HS Classification, Harmonized System Classification
- Electrical Engineer with a good overview of Schneider products and functionalities.
- Strong analytical skills in power electronics and electrical components.
- Ability to review and comprehend technical specifications, drawings, and product Bill of Materials.
- Understanding of engineering concepts like IoT, communication protocols, automation, and electrical magnitudes.
- Experience working in a multi-cultural corporate business setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Minimum 4 years in Technical Engineering fields with a focus on product management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain management with a technical background.
- Graduate of Electronic and/or Electrical Engineering.
- Advanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel and Access.
- Fluent in English; French is a plus.
