Customer Service Manager

We invite you to join us as a Customer Service Manager at our Columbia, MO location. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing customer service, scheduling, and order-related activities, ensuring that all voices are heard and respected.

Who will you report to?

  • Identify root causes and eliminate barriers in the customer service process, both short-term and long-term.
  • Implement and support lean tools within the department and plant.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external customers, coordinating with various Schneider Electric functional areas, including manufacturing, sales, distribution, and field service.
  • Support and manage a world-class customer service experience, fostering engagement and facilitating organic growth.
  • Take ownership of customer issues and see them through to resolution.
  • Set a clear mission and deploy strategies aligned with that mission.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints accurately and expeditiously, covering status, production, delivery, and billing inquiries.
  • Coordinate with customers on product selection, order placement, engineering, delivery schedules, and expediting.
  • Proactively resolve issues through customer interaction, resulting in positive feedback and improved relationships.
  • Support the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process.
  • Understand and manage the capacity of the plant and warehouses, making informed decisions for customer satisfaction while developing KPIs and reports for upper management.
  • Coordinate with the shipping department to resolve shipping issues and ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop customer service personnel and engineers, nurturing an environment of encouragement and empowerment.

This position reports to? Plant Manager

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • 3+ years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisor or leadership experience.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
  • A solid understanding of supply chain principles.
  • Experience facilitating change management within an organization.
  • A strong track record of building a culture of responsiveness and continuous improvement.
  • Experience coordinating with departments to optimize production processes.
  • Experience auditing processes, operational procedures, and product quality, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain performance measurement systems to track results and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience in developing team competencies through training, coaching, communication, and performance management.
  • Skills in team building and motivating people to engage in continuous improvement activities.
