We are looking for an exceptional compliance leader to join our R&D team in North America. You will support on new product development regulatory, compliance and certifications, for solar, storage and EV charging product line.
We are looking for a positive, confident, self-motivated, passionate individual with a strong desire to work in an exciting, fast-paced, team based collaborative design environment to help us develop and sustain next generation technologies to empower and connect our products to each other, and to our customers.
What will you do?
- Work with offer management team to define required and applicable standards for new and sustaining offers with proper interpretation.
- Interface and collaborate with Global R&D engineering teams providing necessary support to HW/FW engineering team to ensure required product compliance are embedded and included through entire design cycle with pragmatic and creative approach within regulatory limits.
- Define, develop, and coordinate end to end certification strategies for all prosumer portfolio (Solar/Storage and EV offers)
- Interface with 3rd party test and certification bodies to initiate projects, deliver test data and related documentation, and solve compliance issues.
- Create, review, and maintain product compliance documentation throughout product lifecycle (construction review, test cases/reports, tech documents etc)
- Execute project plans, possibly to include product testing, to deliver final product certifications including Product Safety, EMC, and Environmental parameters.
- Keep abreast of changes and developments in relevant global testing standards and requirements. Perform gap analysis on new standards for respective product line.
- Draft, edit, and publish internal work packages and operational procedures to support product compliance testing to required standards.
- Work with PMO team to provide compliance related work breakdown structure and identify the risks in adapted product offers & create the risk mitigation plans together with design team.
- Mentor, coach and manage a small team of compliance engineers. Fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent
- Strong Knowledge in product regulatory compliance standards
- 10+ years working in a cross-functional R&D Engineering environment delivering electrical systems through development and into manufacturing.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff.
- Strong Knowledge in product regulatory compliance standards related to Solar/Hybrid Inverter, Battery and EV charging products (for example, IL1741, IEEE1547, CSIP 2030.5, Rule 21, NEC/NFPA, IEC EV Comms/OCPP etc)
- Ensure that applications are in line with customer needs and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills. Driven and able to complete tasks autonomously and under pressure.
- Knowledge of agile methodology and JIRA/Confluence.

The compensation range for this full-time position, which includes base pay and short-term incentive, is CAD $130,000-$194,000 for candidates who are B.C. residents. Our salary ranges are determined by including roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers an inclusive benefits package to support all of our employees such as flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, pension matching, well-being programs, holidays & paid time off, and more.
