Please note, this role is a North American Electric Power Commodity Analyst role within the Global Research & Analytics team located in Louisville (preferred), Boulder, or Schneider hub location.
What you will do:
• Develop and maintain market opinion and price forecasts for various North American electric power markets (e.g. ERCOT, PJM, CAISO hubs)
• Perform analysis - both qualitative and quantitative - and research key energy market trends to develop short-term and long-term market outlooks
• Develop actionable reports and communicate market opinions and outlooks with internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Deliver complex analysis in a way that is persuasive and relatable to stakeholders with a wide range of backgrounds and expertise.

• Maintain excellent relationship with internal stakeholders and clients.
You will be reporting to Robbie Fraser, Associate Director of Global Research & Analytics, located in the USA.
What we need from you:
• Proven knowledge and understanding of North American power market dynamics and energy market fundamentals
• Proven ability to understand complex economic concepts
• High degree of interest and curiosity for understanding markets and general economic conditions - ability to keep up with headlines and speak to broader economic and geopolitical trends.
• Ability to parse regulatory changes and updates to quickly determine relevance and potential impacts.
• Basic understanding of approaches to commodity price forecasting and/or econometric modeling
• Proficiency in Excel
• Experience presenting to senior level stakeholders
• Proven ability to build relationships and communicate complex subjects in an approachable manner
• Proven ability managing multiple deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to leverage written communication to share key ideas and timely updates. Ability to organize thoughts and write in a professional setting.
• Bachelor's degree required - preferably in math, economics, physics, engineering, or research related field. Master's degree preferred but not required.
• Experience with Python, VBA, or other programming is an advantage, but not required.
