Category Buyer (Sheet Metal Parts)

Budapest, Hungary

As a Category Buyer, you will be a key member of the Europe Procurement team and you will be responsible to ensure the best Quality, Cost and Delivery Conditions for a portfolio of suppliers for our European Manufacturing Sites. You'll manage a portfolio of several molders.

What will you do?

Aligned with the Category Strategy, you are in charge to implement the best terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve, on a sustainable basis, the targets allocated to the team and the Procurement Department (Yearly Productivity, Suppliers Quality & Deliveries performance, Sustainability, contract coverage, etc.) plus:

  • Ensure the operational relationships with allocated suppliers and drive sustainable competition into the supplier panel
  • Manage the Request for Quotations and offers selection in consistency with the category strategy
  • Lead concentration plan on targeted suppliers while monitoring and eliminating business risks related to suppliers/supply
  • Lead negotiations
  • Identify & promote Technical productivities (Quality Value Engineering and Change of Supplier) influencing related stake holders (Business Unit, Material Productivity Leaders, Suppliers)
  • Whenever bearing a role of SSL (Schneider Supplier Leader), lead a global approach (Global negotiation, Should Cost approach and Lean initiatives for allocated suppliers)
  • Contribute to the purchasing database/tools updates by providing necessary information to Pole Category Manager / Regional Category Manager / Global Procurement Services, etc.
  • Be the first escalation level for supplier crisis management
  • Travelling time is estimated at 30 to 40% of your time

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Master degree in Purchasing with minimum 3 years experience OR Engineering degree with 5 years' experience in purchasing
  • Spoken and written fluent communication in English
  • Experience with sheet metal parts categories is a big plus
