The role is part of the Central Procurement organization within the Europe region and it is based in Hungary, in the Budapest HUB. The role will manage global relationship between Schneider & the suppliers.

Category Buyer will act as main SPOC of the suppliers under his/her responsibility, leading business continuity, driving strategy, supplier base development and optimization and enhance digital and sustainable with supplier and their supply chain.

What is the purpose of the Category Buyer role in the Schneider Electric ETO (Engineering to Order) organization?

This role has the key interface with the plant covering procurement activities and suppliers' management:
  • Interface with category manager to collect ETO specifications, specify the qualification criteria and contribute to the segmentation of the strategy
  • Contribute and implement the strategy (SOC) in the cluster perimeter
  • Taking the category strategies into account, you will build & drive the category APOP (Annual Procurement Operational Plan) validated by Global Category & plant
  • By cooperating together with Global category & SQLD team you will build the supplier development plan and support its deployment from supplier side
  • Negotiate global frame-agreement with cluster suppliers
  • Initiate and drive breakthrough (make or buy, rebalancing, SBO, innovation...) on the category he/she is managing and follow the advancement
  • Develop supplier competitiveness and assess the quality level. React in front of deviations
  • Organize lesson learnt per category (multi-supplier approach). Return of Experience on key projects or on ETO dimension
  • Secure Supplier competitiveness on the commodity perimeter and the performance on negotiation lever
  • Raise and address cluster supplier quality of service and business continuity
  • Business Continuity first level for escalation
  • Support Procurement Plant Manager and Group Manager on SRM strategy (Sponsorship, C2P, Business review)
  • Supplier base next generation, supplier selection connected with Category Strategy

What qualifications will make you successful? About You:
  • Master's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain from a leading educational institution with excellent academic credentials is preferred.
  • Min 3 years' experience in Procurement Management skills: capable of defining strategy, animating team, convincing, and influencing the stakeholders.
  • Be able to navigate in a complex environment and organization, connect with people and create strong networking
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to convince & influence a large network of internal/external stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding and knowledge of the industry
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Business Acumen
  • Ability to demonstrate strong capabilities in: Leadership, Digital, Communication, Collaboration, Capabilities to innovate in our practices and drive transformations (transformative and disruptive mindset), Customer centric, Strategic Thinking, Cross cultural awareness, Entrepreneurship behaviour, Technical capability to understand deeply their purchases
  • High level of adaptability and change management, ability to learn and grow quickly.
  • Capability of handling multiple tasks and priorities
  • Have full accountability and leadership of the topics managing end to end governance
  • Strong Customer focus with an understanding of the Supply chain and Quality process
  • Proficient experience in Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
