Your role:

The Category Buyer is responsible for parts/ materials for factories in the region. He/she is responsible for purchasing performance by managing a set of suppliers while supporting the execution of purchases in the factories.

He/she is responsible for the direct management of supplier relationships or the overall management of categories for strategic suppliers. He/she is also responsible for implementing the category strategy in the region by developing the Annual Procurement Operation Plan (APOP) at the regional level.

Your main missions:
  • He/she manages the overall relationship between Schneider and the suppliers for which he/she is responsible.
  • Develop the annual plan to improve the commercial performance of suppliers (Productivity, Supply Chain Performance and Quality).
  • Organize and lead supplier management meetings (performance reviews, negotiations, innovation meetings).
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers in the regions, including the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process and electronic auctions.
  • Contribute to the qualification of suppliers by participating in their evaluation.
  • Detect potential supplier risks and develop and implement the associated corrective action plan.
  • Manage specific initiatives with suppliers (Sustainability Green Solutions and Decent Work programs, ISO26000, DPO).
  • Oversee the contractual relationship with suppliers (contract award letters, logistics/quality agreements, MSAs).
  • Administer accounts payable in SAP MdG and SSP SRM, manage billing disputes, price updates, and report productivity data.


He/she supports the Strategic Supplier Manager by providing all the necessary information and requirements to drive the performance of suppliers in the region.

Your profile:
  • Bachelor or master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering field
  • You have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a category buyer/strategic buyer/strategic purchaser


Your skills:
  • Strong experience in purchasing - Knowledge of stamping would be an asset
  • Strong vendor management and communication skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Analytical skills and experience in analyzing market trends
  • Results orientation
  • Ability to navigate a complex environment
  • Proven skills in influence and persuasion
  • Agility and creativity in solving complex problems
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
  • High availability for business trips (30% of your time)
