What do you get to do in this position?
Responsibilities: This Business Development Manager (BDM) role seeks to strengthen the market position of Schneider Electric Consulting Services in the Southeastern US, primarily FL & GA. This position will work closely with the Services Sales Team, National Sales Force, and Consulting Engineering team to grow and develop the Consulting Services business. This position reports to the Area Sales Manager (ASM) for Consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve the sales & business development targets driving specific business opportunities and other strategic goals established by the ASM.
- Coordinate the effort with external and internal stakeholders, negotiate the contracts with customers and maintain relationship with decision influencers.
- Assess projects within various segments/regions and their fitness to meet the business strategy & objectives.
- Screen prospects and opportunities to prioritize those with the highest probability of success.
- Work as a team leader and drive sales and business development strategies including working with the Sales and Operations teams for creating suitable proposals.
- Lead go-to-market strategy, competitor analysis and selling value for key pursuits.
- Influence the pricing strategy and technical positioning of Consulting.
- Drive the BD cycle with our clients, from initial lead identification and Go/No-Go assessments. Coordinate with the Sales and Operations teams through DOA, tendering, negotiation, and contract closure.
- Develop and implement a proper customer engagement plan identifying, create and efficiently manage key client relationships.
- Engage internal and external sellers to help develop your seller network through trainings, lunch and learns, customer meetings, etc.

Typical KPIs
- Achieve sales objectives for your service portfolio in your region
- Achieve secondary sales objectives as defined by the ASM
- Grow your pipeline and sales generation funnel
- Maintain an accurate and detailed forecast for your region and present on the information monthly to management
- Lead regular meetings with your sellers to go over their opportunities and regional needs for Consulting
- Engage with the Operations team regularly to go over quote requests and facilitate timely delivery to sellers and end users
What qualifications will make you successful?
- Electrical Power Distribution Systems knowledge (MV, LV)
- Business Development/Sales or Key Account Management experience.
- Proven experience closing complex business transactions
- Proven cross functional team leadership.
- Strong experience interfacing with execution teams so to understand and anticipate the typical problems the engineering teams run into when executing solutions that involve, hardware, communications, software, etc.
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Strong presentation skills for both internal executive and external customer
- facing meetings
- Ability to accommodate up to 50% travel
Other desired aspects:
- OT/IT background including Cybersecurity knowledge
- Knowledge of the LV/MV industrial market
- Master's degree in business.
