Building Automation Project Manager

Schneider Electric is in search of an experienced Project Manager who can lead Building Automation projects in the Life Sciences Market in the Carolinas.

The applicant should have a vast background in Automation with years of experience working on projects in different roles and positions.

The applicant should have experience working in the Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical Field. This position is intended for an experienced project manager who can lead a portfolio of both small and large-scale projects. The applicant must have related industry knowledge, strong customer service skills, strong understanding of contracting procedures relative to such areas as project correspondence, documentation, subcontract negotiation and subcontract administration.

This individual should have an advanced understanding of mechanical system and can analyze control system drawings and schematics. He or she must exhibit strong leadership skills including team leading and the ability to empower others through delegating responsibility. This position plans, directs and coordinates activities of project teams to ensure that goals and objectives of the project are accomplished on time, implemented at or below the estimated cost.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and support the completion of projects on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Manages resources by planning, scheduling, and forecasting manpower and resource requirements.
  • Project portfolio management for both small and large projects.
  • Conduct all departmental reviews / turnovers during each stage of the project (Sale to Ops, Ops to Sales, design, execution, and Ops to Service)
  • Responsible for managing project cost from start to completion.
  • Monthly forecast for labor, cost projects and revenue.
  • Fully accountable for the quality of the project execution and documentation.
  • Manages all document control for projects such as RFI's, meeting minutes, punch lists, transmittal log, submittal log, change order log and issues logs.
  • Prepare project schedule of values and monthly billings.
  • Create change order estimates and proposals.
  • Responsible for all customer-facing communication.
  • Manage subcontractors.
  • Create project schedules and manage throughout the life of the project.
  • Submit timely notice for project claims.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ Years of relevant experience in the industry of building automation, construction, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or another technical related field.
  • 3 + Years relevant experience in the Lift Sciences / Pharma Industry
  • 3 + Years experience as a Project Manager in the Automation Field.
  • Experience managing projects over $1M.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Professional Scheduling Programs.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaborative skills, internal and external
  • Handle multiple demands and assignments, prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently.
