Role Purpose
Working within a project team, the Application Engineer ensures the timely delivery of the agreed technical scope of supply, as defined by the Senior Application Engineer and/or Lead Engineer. The project team may be drawn from both local and/or remote engineering centers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Implements control strategies and HMI interface within the project team.
2. All aspects of application engineering, including and not limited to:
- System specification, design, implementation, configuration for Schneider product and 3rd party supply.
- Selection of Schneider standard products and major third party purchased equipment.
- To define and configure sequential, continuous and ladder logic from client P&IDs and technical descriptions.
- To define the system network, calculate processor and memory loading.
- To design field loops and specify hardware components.
- Ensure technical compliance to customers' specification relating to assigned areas of work.
- Technical co-ordination of client factory/site acceptance tests.

3. Works from internal and customer documentation to implement applications and control strategies to meet requirements. Participates in the internal testing to the agreed procedures.
4. Assists in the development of the software and all necessary documentation to meet requirements of the application specifications.
5. Participates in on-site engineering, start-up and application commissioning.
6. Assists in sales presentation of application opportunities.
7. Serves as a mentor and technical resource to Graduate Application Engineers
8. Ensures consistency and reusability of project documentation and implementation.
9. Interprets customer technical specifications and generates strategies for implementation in engineering. Assists customer in defining detailed application, system, and hardware requirements.
10. Works from customer documentation to design applications and control strategies to meet requirements. Defines the testing requirements and participates in the internal testing to the agreed procedures.
11. Develops the software and all necessary documentation to meet requirements of the application specifications.
12. Participates in the technical transfer to the customer services operation and participates in post shipment analysis on all technical aspects of the project.
13. Consults with 3rd party vendors to define technical requirements and interface.
14. Assists in producing engineering estimates on low/medium risk potential projects. Assists in sales presentation of application opportunities.

What qualifications will make you successful in this role?
• Relevant bachelor's degree in technology and engineering in any relevant discipline e.g. Electrical & Electronics or Control or Systems Engineering .
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years working in simar positions with relevant industry experience.
- Experience in a system, software, process automation or application engineering capacity with industry knowledge and experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent command of the English and french language, both verbal and written.
- • Conversant with MS Office software products/ suite Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint etc.
