Job Title: Adaptation Technician

Mission: Within the Digital Power Applications team, join a fantastic shopfloor adaptation team in Chippenham and manage the end-to-end repair, assembly and testing process of all equipment for the Medium Voltage Team, servicing equipment that is supplied to Distribution Network Operators and that meets Schneider Electric's business goals. Meeting the expected service levels of customers and achieving quality standards timeously.

Key responsibilities:

• Servicing and preventative maintenance of all electrical equipment within the shopfloor/adaptation area;

• Repair of failed or damaged components within the shopfloor/adaptation area;

• Installation, testing and commissioning of installed equipment within the shopfloor/adaptation area;

• Work in collaboration with fellow adaptation technicians to meet production and repair schedules for on time delivery to customers;

• Work in collaboration with fellow project management and engineering team(s) to complete production/testing and repair schedules and support pending quality cases on Bridge Front Office platform;

• Be customer focused with a customer first approach, dealing with inhouse technical repairs, fault-finding, electrical investigations.

• Follow cabinet inhouse drawings and wiring diagrams for correct wiring of panels and equipment.

• Complete all shopfloor works in alignment with ISO9001 quality processes

• Ensure all works are in compliance with Schneider Electric Health & Safety practises

• Willing to perform as a team player and support in areas outside of their own to support overall production targets.

Skills and attributes:

• Demonstratable experience of previous electrical testing, wiring, adaptation knowledge.

• Previous experience with inhouse electrical repairs on RTU units and control panels

• Knowledge and understanding of how to read wiring diagrams and cabinet drawings for panels and control units.

• Technical knowledge of RTU solutions or protection equipment would be a plus.

• Team player, Health & Safety conscious, working to a high standard of quality.

• Interpersonal skills and able to collaborate with internal sales, shopfloor team.

• Fully PC & Windows Excel/Word literate

Education

Previous electrical experience with a basic understanding of electronics, wiring and drawings. HNC electrical qualification would be a plus.
