The Commercial RE Appraiser provides highly professional and sophisticated value-added appraisal reviews and consultative services to the Santander Bank lending groups on complex real estate pledged to Santander Bank for secured, as well as unsecured loans. The Appraiser must be a self-starter and be able to meet customer demands for prompt, cost-effective and well-supported valuations to support lending decisions.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:.

  • Provide credible, comprehensive, and well-supported appraisal reviews and/or valuations of complex real estate collateral in the most timely and cost effective manner possible. These valuation services include appraisal reviews, internal appraisals, evaluations, appraisal validations, due diligence reviews, and new business consulting. Site inspections of real estate collateral may also be required .
  • Ensuring that valuations are completed in accordance with regulatory requirements, including FIRREA, and conform, as appropriate, to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
  • Document and support valuation rationale and methodology for all assignments completed .
  • Tackle special projects as assigned by senior management .

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of related appraisal experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • State Certified General Appraiser

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements; FIRREA, and Uniform standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
  • Strong appraisal review and analytical skills (analyze technical real estate valuations for real estate transactions) .
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent judgment and decision making abilities.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.

Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
Salary: $90,000 - $122,500/year
