POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for future leaders to join Santander's unique, comprehensive Commercial Banking Analyst Training Program. You will start your journey as an Analyst and join other program colleagues for 1 month of intensive classroom training. Upon completion of the training portion of the program, you will have an opportunity to rotate through various business segments within Santander's Commercial Bank, followed by a full-time role within the Commercial Bank. You will learn critical analytical and communication skills to develop a career with a rapidly growing global financial services firm. Santander Group is one of the top 10 Banks worldwide. The program curriculum is rigorous and provides foundational, technical underwriting skills to prepare you to make an immediate impact on the business. Rotations through our Underwriting & Portfolio Management and Originations teams provide the practical experience working in deal teams on live transactions for real clients across Commercial Banking. The program also includes an array of leadership and development training, a speaker series, mentoring and group community volunteering. Following successful completion of training, Analysts are placed within a Commercial Banking Underwriting & Portfolio Management or Originations team based upon business line needs. Opportunities include but are not limited to: Commercial & Industrial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Santander Real Estate Capital, and Santander Real Estate Investment Management.

COMMERCIAL BANKING

Commercial Banking has product and industry sector expertise in Commercial Real Estate, Asset Based Lending, Cash Flow Lending, Leveraged Finance, Healthcare, Education, and Government Banking.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Graduation from the Program requires passing all requisite examinations, individual and group assessments during the classroom training, and all continuous education.
Analysts will have the following responsibilities:
1. Complete the Training Program curriculum
2. Perform credit analysis and underwriting on new deals, renewals/reviews, and
modifications verifying compliance with credit policy
3. Conduct due diligence on clients, industries, and markets to identify key
business drivers and risks
4. Assist in the preparation of valuation and capital structure analysis in
conjunction with credit approvals for new and existing clients
5. Assist with legal closing process, preparing, reviewing, and validating
documentation, ensuring compliance and conditions are met
6. Communicate with all deal team members including: origination, underwriting, credit risk management, monitoring, and loan closing
7. Monitor and assess client financials, collateral, loan covenants, and risk
ratings on a periodic basis
8. Assess and formally review client risk through periodic Portfolio Reviews,
Internal Audits, External Audits, and ad-hoc reviews
9. Continuously monitor client financials/information to ensure performance to
financial plan and compliance with credit agreement
10. Prepare credit approval document and assist deal team in deal screen and
approval meetings
11. Prepare customer risk rating and financial statement analysis

12. Provide prospecting and customer relationship management support including customer/industry research, attendance in customer calls, and preparation of presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree, minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA preferred
  • Experience: Demonstrated work ethic and proficiency in both academics, internships, extracurricular activities, and relevant leadership positions

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Minimum:

$69,750.00 USD

Maximum:

$97,500.00 USD
