Job Purpose:

The Spanish-speaking Patient Education Liaison (SSPEL) is a key x-LSD field-based member of the U.S. Rare Disease Care Connect PSS commercial team. The SSPEL supports the patient-focused mission by providing linguistically and culturally appropriate disease, inheritance, product information and support to patients and families affected by genetic diseases for which Sanofi Genzyme provides a treatment option. The SSPEL establishes strong working relationships with patients and healthcare professionals, helping to facilitate early diagnosis and treatment access to optimize patient care, working collaboratively in a complex team environment with numerous internal cross-functional groups.

Job Responsibilities:
  • The SSPEL will be assigned to support all Spanish-speaking patients in the eastern portion of the United States including Puerto Rico.
  • Leads education and awareness efforts of disease state, inheritance, diagnostic and product information to patients and families through telephone communication, live patient and family meetings, and patient education programs.
  • Assesses patients' needs and develops action plans that facilitate the diagnostic and treatment process as recommended by patient's healthcare provider.
  • Works with cross functional partners to identify patient-specific barriers and develop action plans for resolution. Demonstrates accountability for action plan execution and drives for success and results.
  • Delivers in-depth disease and product in-services, for home health care providers of patients receiving Sanofi-Genzyme ERT treatment within the home to ensure optimal care and adherence to prescribed dosing.
  • Integrates and works in partnership with regional teams.
  • Builds strong internal relationships with colleagues in all cross-functional groups including Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Care Coordination, Corporate Accounts and Science divisions.
  • Identifies and formalizes PEL processes by leveraging collaborative partnership with cross-functional colleagues and patients in the eastern portion of the United States.
  • Meets documentation requirements in CRM system to facilitate tracking of critical metrics.
  • Delivers on key objectives established annually.
  • Ensures full compliance with all corporate and industry policies and legal and regulatory requirements, for all regional commercial activities.
  • Must be able to travel extensively (60% - 80%).

Qualifications and Required Skills:
  • Fluent in Spanish and able to converse proficiently with Spanish-speaking patients
  • Must reside in Chicago, NY, FL or GA
  • Bachelor's/master's degree in health care/ Life Sciences/ Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse or Board-Certified Genetic Counselor or equivalent clinical background with patient education experience
  • Experience in the following specialties: Genetics, Neurology/Neuromuscular, Renal or Hematology/Oncology
  • 3-5 years of experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to work independently
  • Extremely flexible, with the ability to multi-task

The salary range for this position is $100,500.00 - 134,000.00. All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees maybe eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
