Sanofi is seeking an experienced and talented Scientist with strong skills in immunology and cellular biology to join the Global Investigative Toxicology group in Cambridge, MA. In this role, the successful candidate will conduct in vitro immunological assays and established or newly developed cellular assays with multiple types of endpoints to investigate the toxicity associated with therapeutic drug candidates. The candidate will also contribute to the development and qualification of novel, innovative in vitro assays and provide support for portfolio projects to manage safety risk. As a member of the Global Investigative Toxicology group, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with fellow scientists across Sanofi to advance safety testing and help bring new therapies to patients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of novel, innovative in vitro cellular models (2D or 3D format) and assays to assess safety concerns.
  • Contribute to the design of studies to address safety issues and independently manage and implement experimental plans and study design details.
  • Independently perform cellular, biochemical, or immune assays.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Independently analyze data generated and effectively present the results in team meetings.
  • Contribute to laboratory organization and management.
  • Maintain a well-organized and up-to-date laboratory eNotebook.

About You

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Master's degree in immunology or equivalent biological field with a minimum of 5 years, or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years, relevant immunology-related research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting.
  • Hands on experience working with blood and primary cells or cell lines (culture, maintenance, characterization) is a must.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating cellular immune response endpoints is also a must.
  • Experience with transcriptomic methods such as RNA-seq are a plus.
  • Strong technical and data analysis skills are critical.
  • Flexibility and motivation to learn new technical skills is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also critical.
  • Previous experience working in the toxicology field or in a large pharmaceutical company are considered pluses.
