Purification Process Development (part of Sanofi R&D) is responsible for development, scale-up, transfer, and characterization of purification processes for clinical and commercial manufacturing of therapeutic proteins from the mammalian production platform. In addition, the department develops next generation bioprocessing and process development technologies such as integrated and continuous bioprocessing, high throughput process development, and mechanistic modeling of bioprocesses. The department also works to support a global purification network and update our purification platform.

Main Responsibilities:

We are looking for candidates for the position of Scientist. This individual should be able to use scientific principles and professional practices to creatively and practically solve a wide range of problems, while ensuring the highest standards of safety, environmental and regulatory compliance are maintained in the workplace.

Responsibilities include:
  • Leading the development of robust downstream unit operations and processes that can be scaled to pilot, clinical, and commercial manufacturing scales
  • Leading the examination of novel purification technologies for manufacturing and process development
  • Developing areas of specific technical expertise and training and guiding others in those areas
  • Representing the department in cross-functional and/or cross-site interactions
  • Preparing internal technical reports and externally presenting and/or publishing technology advancements

About You

Basic Qualifications:
  • PhD. in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related fields or M.S. with at least 4 years of relevant experience or B.S. with at least 6 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse cross-functional team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • An understanding of scientific and engineering principles and techniques used in the production of protein therapeutics
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented
  • High level of scientific curiosity
