Main responsibilities:
  • Innovation: contribute to an in-depth analysis of the literature on a specific pathogen, on potential vaccine antigens, on disease mechanisms or on a specific innovative vaccine approach. Promote innovation, state of the art technologies, and propose strategies to improve vaccine candidate performance by applying innovative approaches. Become and internal subject matter expert in the field of virology
  • Technical/Execution of project activities: Contribute to the understanding of host pathogen interactions, pathogen production and characterization and antigen identification relevant to vaccine development. Develop and conduct experiments to identify new vaccine antigens and/or evaluate vaccine candidates' efficacy and safety. Propose, develop and apply state of the art technologies from cell biology, virology and molecular biology to produce, purify and characterize viruses and to understand the mechanism of infection, to identify antigen and understand its structure/function
  • Data Analysis and reporting: Analyze and interpret complex experimental data in comparison with data from the literature, by employing statistical methods and data visualization techniques. Prepare research reports, slide decks, scientific publications, and documentation for patent applications
  • Quality Assurance: Understand the vaccine development environment and constraints. Ensure research activities comply with regulatory guidelines and maintain high-quality standards
  • Project progression: proactively contribute to research projects, ensuring their successful execution and communication between project and the virology platform. Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to advance research goals and be a key actor in interfacing with other partner functions within Sanofi and external collaborations

About you
  • Ph.D. in Virology or a closely related field
  • Deep knowledge in virology, cell biology and molecular biology. Knowledge in vaccinology and electron microscopy can be a plus
  • Strong skills in experimental design and data analysis
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Adaptability and agility to adapt in a moving environment and respond to emerging research priorities
  • Problem solving oriented
  • French and English speaking, good communication skills, oral and written
