The Project Engineer is responsible for providing project management, design engineering, and ad-hoc technical support of packaging and processing operations. They are responsible for all aspects of a project from development of costs and concepts to technical support after implementation. The Project Engineer will contribute towards site goals, objectives, strategies, and measures as they relate to capital, reliability, plant capability, cost, sustainability, and waste reduction.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead project engineering activities, including design, procurement, construction management, installation, and qualification.
  • Plan and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource coordination to ensure adherence to scope and financial targets.
  • Drive engineering metrics, owning KPIs such as Budget Adherence %, Cash Flow Adherence %, and Project Approval rates.
  • Collaborate with site teams and non-site engineering resources to ensure effective project execution.
  • Champion the Early Equipment Management (EEM) program, focusing on optimization, maintenance, and startup management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory standards (OSHA, GMP, FDA), and promote a zero-incident safety culture.
  • Foster communication across all organizational levels and support environmental impact reduction initiatives.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical)
  • Over 5 years of experience in project management, process design, manufacturing, and contractor supervision.
  • Solid understanding of various engineering disciplines, plant operations, and construction practices.
  • Proven success in developing and executing complex projects valued over $1MM.
  • Skilled in technical writing, including Work Instructions, SOPs, and OPLs.
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks) and capable of reading engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing and knowledge of site utilities (chillers, boilers, air compressors) preferred.
