Within Sanofi, the Procurement function is a powerhouse maximizing savings to fund the company's future growth. The Chief Procurement Officer is reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, member of the sanofi executive committee. The Procurement organization is divided into five Domains (Manufacturing & Supply, Marketing & Sales, Professional Services, Scientific & Medical and Digital) leveraging Global Procurement Operations and the Procurement Center of Excellence & Transformation. The yearly spend coverage is around 15B€ with a special focus on Procurement excellence, Supplier Diversity and Sustainability. Closely collaborating with Finance, Business Operations and Business Units, Procurement is instrumental in achieving cost efficiency and savings. Procurement plays a critical role in optimizing Business Operational Impact with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. It forges strategic partnerships with suppliers, prioritizing innovation and data driven solutions.
The Procurement Site Lead (PSL) is responsible to ensure the alignment between the site compelling business needs (CBNs) and the 3rd party spend (direct & indirect) sourcing strategies.
He/She will ensure the consolidation and prioritization of all 3rd party related initiatives for the site.
In this role, the PSL is part of GBU Global Procurement team and reports to the Procurement Cluster Head. He/She is the Procurement Business partner for the Site Leadership Team and is the entry point of the site Leadership team for all matters about Procurement categories.
The PSL is the primary contact for the Procurement community. He/She relies on the Global Category Buyers to support the site's negotiation objectives and ensures that the specific needs of the sites are covered by the group Procurement strategy.
Main responsibilities:
Strategy
- Support Global Lead Buyers, Category Managers on strategy development and execution for Direct & Indirect
- Support Budget & Strat plan, by continuously identifying & monitoring cost reduction project pipeline, communicating on market index evolution, applying Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach to deliver target saving and value for the site and the GBU
- Contribute to the alignment of site's priorities and objectives with overall GBU 3rd party expenses cost reduction, risk reduction (led by Critical Material Management Team or equivalent) and sustainability goals
- Anticipate and consolidate all business needs (supply risk, new sourcing, crisis management, ...) while driving the development of new market opportunities (new suppliers, new technologies, new product launches, capex development, transfers, substitution products, etc.)
- In collaboration with Critical Material Management Team or equivalent, contribute to define and implement the site strategic plan to reduce the site material sourcing risk exposure
Operational
- Master site's spend profile (key products material BOM, spend map by category, Pareto of spend, global/local suppliers, preferred/non-preferred, mono or dual sourcing...etc)
- Deliver world class total savings objectives for all domains (Direct & Indirect) within his/her perimeter thanks to a strong understanding of his/her site's process and spend portfolio
- Challenge status quo, both internally and externally, in alignment with global strategy guidelines to identify continuous pipeline of local & global initiatives to achieve savings objectives
- In collaboration with Site SMS Team (SMS Head and KSOL) ensure the integration of 3rd party initiaitves into sites' project roadmap
- Whilst KSOL is in charge of steering the implementation of projects requiring technical validation and sites' ressources, PSL will own all actions involving suppliers
- Ensure the right application by the site of the global contracts' Terms & Conditionsincluding for example Global volume allocation decision. Ensure accuracy of the Procurement-related information of the Purchase Info Records (PIR)
- Support Vendors' service and quality improvement roadmap as agreed with the GBU and Site by ensuring the implementation of all actions required from global or local vendors
- Track Supplier Quality and delivery Performance at Site Level and contribute to the SRM with Global Category Buyers
- Support local functions stakeholders in solving 3rd party major and/or recurring issues supply, quality and delay in payment potentially leading to claim compensation. Escalate within the appropriate procurement and P2P channel.
- Provide - through different tools - information and support for reporting activities per respective categories (PPV, Technical savings, Indirect savings, Supplier Performance...)
Business Partnering
- Develop strong relationship with external partners (suppliers)
- Ensure and develop proper business partnership with M&S site stakeholders (Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing, Technical teams, Quality, SMS, ...)
- Engage with technical lead specifiers from Operations, MSAT and Engineering
- Ensure the appropriate level of communication with Procurement community for a full alignment with tools, practices, and priorities
About you
The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experiences in the following areas:
• Bachelor's degree in sciences, Engineering or Business ideally with procurement degree
• At least 3/5 years of experience in procurement or another relevant field.
• Knowledge of the category (Pharma, Biologics or/and FMCG) or Bioprocess is a plus
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Demonstrated knowledge of procurement strategy, systems, processes and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
• Strong Analytical and Negotiation skills
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Facilitating cross-functional teams
• Supplier relationship management (Contracts, Cost model, Development plan etc)
• Project Management
• Ability to work in constant international environment and matrix organization.
