Main responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the management and development of Medicare Part D, Managed Medicaid, and Commercial health plan contract documents, as well as financial modeling and contract risk analyses for such contracts utilizing third party product data resources, to ensure achievement of corporate financial goals.
  • Detailed understanding, review and negotiating of contract language for Medicare Part D, Managed Medicaid, and Commercial health plan contracts (e.g. definitions, payment terms, rebate exclusion criteria [e.g., 340B and duplicate discounts], and product-specific rebate conditions [e.g. formulary placement, utilization management criteria, competitor market landscape]).
  • Support the implementation of product brand strategies to achieve formulary placement and reimbursement across payer customers.
  • Create situational analysis to evaluate pricing proposals by Account Management and/or PBM/Payer Customers and provide financial and strategic recommendations/solutions for presentation to Pricing Committee.
  • Manage the timely development, negotiation, and finalization of all contract documents, including financial proposal objectives/recommendations/assumptions and product terms/conditions, in partnership with Legal, Account Management and PBM/Payer Customer.
  • Review, interpret, and assess specialty product reimbursement and utilization management criteria against pre-defined contracting objectives.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with departments (Legal, Market Access Leads, Brand Teams, Account Management, Finance and Strategic Pricing and Contract Management) and customers to assess contract risks, benefits, and compliance.
  • Maintain current master contract documents for assigned accounts.
  • Partner with Contract Operations team to ensure proper system set-up of pricing terms and accurate rebate payments.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of contract management process improvements.
  • Ad-hoc analyses and special projects as requested.

About you

Experience:
  • 3+ years pharmaceutical experience in working with prescription drugs as it relates to contracting between pharmaceutical manufacturers and health plans, pricing strategy and analytics, processing of prescription drug rebate invoices from health plans, or other critical thinking disciplines.
  • Managed Markets contracting knowledge is required with demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical contracting.

Soft and technical skills:
  • Analytical skills and financial experience
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Auditable accuracy in work product
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the management and negotiation of Specialty products.
  • Experience in the review, interpretation, and explanation of product utilization management criteria.
  • Must be able to work independently, initiate and carry out multiple contracting assignments until completion.
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

Education:
  • BA or BS Degree
  • MBA\CPA or equivalent business experience preferred.
