About the job

The candidate will be part of Geographies tax team whose mission is to ensure full compliance with all applicable tax laws, while proactively designing and implementing a tax strategy that aligns with Sanofi goals. We defend and represent Sanofi in front of Tax Authorities, monitor new tax legislation, coordinate lobbying efforts, and provide expert tax advice to all business units and support functions to enable Sanofi's business strategy.

The Senior International Tax Manager will be responsible for the tax function of Sanofi across a variety of countries and region and in particular but not limited to Africa, Eurasia, Gulf, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Turkey, as the candidate will also provide strategic tax support to other geographies (in particular Europe), or specific countries as needed.

Your main responsibilities
  • Develop and implement tax strategies aligned with Sanofi business objectives ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations
  • Design and participate in the planning and implementation of reorganization projects, tax planning initiatives and provide expert tax advice on the tax implications of planned transactions and changes in tax law
  • Manage the group's tax risk and contribute to the Group's effective tax rate target
  • Provide overall coordination of the external tax advisors in the region
  • Stay up to date on tax legislation and regulations and advise on potential impacts to our business
  • Manage tax audits and disputes with local tax authorities
  • Build strong relationships across the organization, provide expert tax advice and guidance the business on all aspects of tax and transfer pricing matters. Act as the primary tax contact for the business and support functions in the region
  • Work closely with Treasury and Finance teams to ensure appropriate funding of legal entities and facilitate plans to repatriate in a tax-efficient manner
  • Execute and manage the Global Transfer Pricing Policy in the region ensuring compliance with all applicable transfer pricing regulations
  • Support and disseminate knowledge within the regional tax team and to stakeholders
  • Quarterly tax reporting sign-off for the region requiring a significant knowledge of tax accounting, including tax provisions and deferred tax asset/liability analysis
  • Communicate effectively to the Head of Tax, International, China and JPAC the business, and legal outcomes of tax-related issues including actual or proposed tax legislative or regulatory changes, to drive and influence strategic decision-making for the region

About you

Experience
  • Deep knowledge of international tax and transfer pricing regulation
  • Minimum 10-year experience in tax planning & compliance
  • Good understanding of accounting standards

Soft skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to prioritize tasks effectively.

Language
  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in French is a plus
