The Health, Safety and Environment ("HSE") Manager works with the Country Lead and all the Business Unit Leaders to:
- Continually improve employee and third party (contractors, temporary workers, suppliers) health and safety, environmental protection, in all Sanofi activities.
- Lead in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSE strategies and programs that ensure safe working practices and a proactive safety culture.
- Develop systems to ensure compliance with all legal regulations, industry guidelines and company policies and procedures.
- Drive all training and continuous improvement activities and develop & / or deliver HSE training, such as Road Safety and Ergonomics.

- Establish and maintain an exceptional safety culture and HSE leadership.
- Identify legal obligations and develop strategies to ensure HSE compliance.
- Assist Management Teams in the development of policies and procedures to mitigate compliance breaches.
- Identify compliance risks in Health, Safety, Environment and Workers Compensation and assist Managers to develop strategies to achieve compliance.
- Ensure that Sanofi Management is aware and informed of all statutory obligations, industry codes of practice and Sanofi policies and Requirements.
- Minimize the environmental impact of the business operations.
- Promoting a proactive safety culture across all areas of the business.
- Influencing and supporting Managers and employees through change.
- Developing systems to ensure HSE compliance.
- Development and deployment of health promotion programs.
- Completion of in HSE risk assessments.
- Improvement of participation rate of EatWell and FeelGood.
Leadership & Culture
- Support Country Lead and Business Unit Leaders to promote HSE culture and values.
- Develop & maintain the HSE committee.
- Promote HSE good practices & raise HSE awareness to support a proactive organization including training, HSE events, communication programs.
- Conduct regulatory compliance review & gap analysis.
- Deploy health promotion and wellness programs.
Organization & Systems
- Implement the HSE Management system including (but not limited to):
- Risk assessment
- Road Safety Policy
- PASS (HSE & Security Annual Action Plan)
- Contractor HSE Compliance
- Ergonomics Assessments
- Training, audits & inspections
- Medical Surveillance
- Accident reporting and Investigations
- Other elements outlined in the Sanofi HSE Policy and Requirements
- Investigate Safety incidents and develop improvement programs.
- Complete monthly and annual reporting by leading Workplace Experience Team (SHERPA, QualiPSO, Dashboard)
Facilities & Equipment & Site Services
- Monitor HSE regulations, company standards and ensure compliance.
- Ensure that the Fire Protection system maintenance schedules are coordinated.
- Proceed with regular facility audits and monitor corrective action plans.
- Lead energy efficiency, recycling programs and environment initiatives.
- Support Workplace Experience department to promote the safety, sustainability, and wellbeing of employees in their operation.
- Manage employee health by supporting the Medical Room and its related operations, including budget management.
- Manage HSE related-costs and their budgeting by working with Workplace Experience.

- Sanofi Workplace Experience Manager - Office Safety and Sustainability Program implementation
- Road Safety Chair and Each GBU - Road Safety Program and Car Fleet Audit
- Tokyo Operacity Building Management Office (Landlord) - Office Safety
- Sanofi Security Manager
- Medical Room, Occupational Physician, P&C, Wellbeing Taskforce - Employee health, Medical Room Contract Management
